Check to see if the compressor is starting. If it is not, replace the start relay. Here is the part to order.

I have a Sharp model LC-42sb45u that will not turn on since power outage.

Voltages sometime increase/decrease during power outages. This mainly afftects the power supply of a lot of electronics equipment.
1. Check the fuse.
2. Check primary components like; Bridge rectifier, filter cap, switching components etc.
3. Check secondary (cold) side once you isolate the primary side to be ok.
Please consult a professional technician if you are not skilled in electronics repairing.

All the best

My light is on in my fridge, but it is not getting cold, i had an electrical outage and it seems as though it hasn't worked since Nancy

With the power outages we get here, it is a common problem. The first thing you need to do is determine if the compressor is activating or not. Take a look at the compressor compartment and feel (carefully) the top of the compressor. If it is warm but no sound from it, then it might be the contactor-relay or the start capacitor. If it is extremely hot then the compressor could be blown but you would need to check it with an ohm meter to be sure.

The most common failure (after a power outage) is the contactor-relay and the capacitor.

We had a power outage, after power back up, the fridge is getting super cold, milk is frozen, we make the fridge temp higher, doesn't help

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Maytag stopped getting cold, buzzing noise every now and then after pwr outage

Frig requires either compressor relay or the compressor itself...should have some warranty still, so call an authorized servicer. Ray

Ge profile arctica

It is unlikely that a power outage by itself will cause your problem. Recheck hour refrigerator thermostat. It should regulate to 38-42 degrees F. You can take an outdoor thermometer and put it into the fridge compartment, leave it for an hour or two and check. Adjust as necessary. If that doesn't fix it, we can proceed further.
