Question about Sceptre Televison & Video
Bought a x40 sceptre about 18 months ago. Tonight the screen went out after a few minutes. Power light comes on and the screen kinda comes on but no picture. I can't even change the input source. Any thoughts?
Unplug the set and whatever is connected to it from power for a while and then power them back to see if units will reboot.

SOURCE: Blank Screen
Hi Gemma - have a look at this forum - it may be similar to what you are experiencing. http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/viewtopic.php?t=5411&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Things don't look good for NEC owners I must say! Good luck Saty.

sounds like the backlight is out, can you see a picture when shining a flashlight on the screen. if yes you have either a bad inverter power supply or bad screen (panel).
both are serious , also could be just a few bad capacitors on the power supply, if you want you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swolled on top and are easy to solder in cost about $1 EACH

Rplace both capacitors on inverter board along with surface mount fuse on other side of board. The caps will aapear puffy on top.
