SOURCE: honeywell manual fan switch broken

The fan limit switch is basically like a thermostat. When the plenum heats up to a certain degree it turns on the fan to start heating your house, and turns off when the fan off when the plenum gets around 80-90 degrees so that you’re not pumping cold air in to house. It also acts as a safety switch if the fan does not come on the plenum will get way to hot so this fan limit will kick the furnace off before that happens. As far as that little white button it should always be on auto you can try to use needle nose pliers to get it back into the auto position, or if you have the broken piece you can try to glue it back on. The white button goes in and out it does not turn or anything just make sure you turn the power off first and if u can’t fix it replace.

SOURCE: The fan starts and then the flame ignites but goes out

Did you clean the sensor with a piece of sand paper? Then wipe it with a dollar bill. The bill has a fire proof like chemical on it. Rubbing it on the sensor will coat it and keep it cean longer. If this dont work let me know

the fan fill come on with the sequencer (stack switch you call it) it will also come on with the fan relay. on some goodmans the fan relay is the black box on the circuit board. use a jumper to jump red to green, this should bring the fan on sounds like you could have a broken green wire, try using a different wire instead of green

Witch blower is running, the inducer or the systems blower?
System blower could mean the the high limit is opening and shutting down the systems gas train, I would check this out first.

The other problem could be with the pressure switch for the gas train, it is supplied from the inducer motor, check to see if it is operating fully.

HSI boards do go from time to time, this sounds more like a system control problem.

Goodman gas pack unit indoor fan stays on all the time

Problem may be with the high limit switch located above the burner assembly with two wires to flat rectangular looking plate. Jumper the two wires and see if the fan quit's running. If so replace high limit switch.

My honeywell Thermostat reaches the heating temp. but the fan will not stop running. And yes the fan is set to auto.It just keeps running and running and running. It stays the same temp but will not shut off...

I want to give a simple explanation before I go any further. On the heating side of a unit even though tthe temp has satisfied the thermostat, the fan will run until it cools down the plenum where the air flows from the air handler. There is a bimetal switch called a fan limit that operates the blower when the plenum reaches the temp set on the fan limit switch. Now if your fan keeps running even after the plenum chamber has cooled down, then you could have a fan limit switch that is stuck in the run position and must be replaced in order to correct the problem.

Hi,

There really is nothing you can do to fix that if it is bad... the switch runs off of a bimetal spring and that has just plum worn out...

The main thing you need to check is the insertion depth of the bimetal spring...then you can buy a replacement at any HVAC supply house...

Goodman A18-8 electronic furnance and AC troubleshooting.

Check the unit for a high temperature limit switch, usually a round bimetal disc or a square plate that
would insert into the unit. If the switch is bad, it opens up and the fan will run no matter what. Complete the circuit with jumper wire, if fan shuts off
replace switch
