Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Squealing noise when turning on and switching sources. The picture also has scan lines seen going up the screen.

I'm pretty sure the squealing is from the flashback transformer but unsure if this is causing the scan lines.

I would also guess you are hearing a high voltage squeal. Your only options are using equipment to test the flyback or just replace it and see if it fixes the problem. As for the scan lines that may be a totally different problem. I would check capacitors and make sure they are good. If they are good you would have do some testing on other components in the TV as it could be anything and can't give you a straight forward answer on that. Good luck!

Ok clicking tends to a relay trip do to over power caused by a dead fuse. unscrew your tv after you unplug it look at the board pull the fuse and replace its usually says like 250v blah blah blah and that should do you if that doesn't do the trix then it may be a blown compacitor wich you can't fix your self, unless educated in soldier repair.

Can't find the source of the squeal

Year make and model ??
The belt could be glazed and slipping even if it is tight.
You could have a weak belt tensioner too.
The noise when the ac or heat is turned on can be the extra load from the ac compressor or the alternator. The compressor cycles on and off especially in defrost mode.
The load from the alternator is the first noise of the day. As the belt warms up it becomes better at handling the load of the accessories.
Even tho the belt looks fine, you may have to replace it to get rid of the noise.

2000 montero sport: There's a loud squealing noise coming from the engine. What could be wrong?

Squealing is most common with loose or worn belts, I would start by replacing the drive belt on the front of the motor and go from there, Its easier to troubleshoot a squealing motor if you know that the belt or belts are good.

My son has a 2002 GMC Sonoma crew cab that is making a grinding noise when making turns, both left and right. This may be an unrelated problem but the tires are also squealing when taking off from a stop,...

the grinding noise sounds like the axle shaft joints are no good and need replacing.also the wheel bearings could be so bad that they are causing this problem.i have seen where badly worn out brakes have made a grinding noise on turns.the tire squealing i don`t think is related to the grinding noise.check out the other things just in case it is changing the tire angle which could cause squealing.

Really loud whirring/squealing noise

Yes, It is still safe but very annoying...
The source is probably the guide rollers for the drum or the belt tensioner pulley. To know for sure you will need to pull the dryer apart and turn it by hand slowly and see where the noise is coming from...

My tv, just shut off! the screen does not turn on, and makes a squealing noise! what is wrong?

That is the classic case of the color wheel going out on you. The color wheel has ball barrings that tend to break and cause friction within the wheel. It'll start squealing loudly when it becomes stuck. Before it broke, did you notice the color going out or a fuzzy picture with poor skin tones? That's the color wheel!

Humming or squealing noise when tv is turned on (model 32LG30)

Be sure you have installed the stand scresw weather or not you are using the stand.
The back panel can vibrate without the screws.

Other sources of a hum are the coils on the power supply.
The power supply would have to be replaced to solve the issue.
