Question about Hoover Hardware & Accessories

My Hoover windtunnel T-Series P.A.W.S Vacuum is making a horrible whirling sound

I got this about a month or so ago and I love it. But after the 1st or 2nd use it started making this horrible whirling sound. I have emptied the canister, cleaned both filters, made sure there is nothing on the roller and checked the belt (it is fine). I have a short video that shows this but not sure if I can upload that or not. Anyhow, the vacuum itself is working good and picking up stuff. But I am worried I am making it worse when I use it if there is a problem and it is getting worse. I have went thru the manual and watched youtube videos to try and pinpoint my problem but can't figure out what the issue is. It sounds like there is something wrong with the roller as you can hear the whirling noise and when you turn the vacuum off it slows down as the roller slows down but could there be something wrong with the motor? Any suggestions would be awesome. I really appreciate it. Brenda

As I was vacuuming my vacuum cleaner stopped working

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Your Hoover Windtunnel may have stopped working for several reasons. First, make sure that your unit is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and make sure the electrical outlet is working correctly. Vacuum units, and other appliances, protect themselves from sudden electrical charges, ups and downs. Make sure the electrical fuse and breaker are on, if not reset breaker.

Some units may heat up and will automatically shut themselves down to prevent fires. Allow your unit to cool down for 30 minutes while the thermal protector is automatically reset. Overheating, may have been caused by a clogged hose, dirty filters, full bags or a roller brush that is not running properly. All these situations compromise the unit's air flow and make the unit work harder, making it to heat up.

To avoid these situations and to keep your unit running at it's maximum capacity, make sure to change filters regularly (recommended every 3-6 months), clean your brush roll from any tangled hair strands or debris monthly (roller brushes are recommended to be replaced at least yearly), and replace belts every 6 months.

You can purchase direct your replacement belts, bags, roller brush and filters from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Hepa filter does not turn on hoover wind tunnel vacuum model U6630900. It was working (turning) and I cleaned the filter and canister and now it no longer spins when the vacuum is running.

The part you refer to is not the HEPA filter. It's a very common misconception that that part spins - it looks like it when there's dust whirling around it. In fact, it does not spin - there are no visible moving parts.

I have a hoover windtunnel upright vacuum bought it a few months ago and now the brush spinning stopped working.

You probably have a broken belt, or the belt came off. The Self Propel Windtunnel has an issue with the pulley that tightens the V-belt in place getting stuck and needs to be taken apart and released, but most likely its just the belt. They should be replaced every 6 months or so, and the part number is usually on the serial tag of the machine.

Hoover Windtunnel Bagless bolt fell off

With this self propell series, the entire bottom needs to come apart to re-install the nut. if it is one month old I would highly recommend taking it in for warranty service. What plastic is melted?

Either the brush rolls are bad, at the ends, or the gear/motor asm. is bad.
