Question about Refrigerators
Thermostat light blinking, both sides arent cooling enough, its been cleaned but has develops mold somehow, I've adjust the thermostat but it will change back & continue blinking
You do not need the capacitor or the overload or the relay,The kit has all of them thangs built in to it. Basically that hard start has 5 wires. You put red to the right(run). Black at the top (common) and white to the left pin(start). All you need to do with the other 2 wires is hook 120 volts to them. Usually your ice box will have a red and a white wire coming down from the cold control. That is what you hook the 2 ***** wires 2. If you have a condenser motor to contend with then hook it up parallel in the circuit. What do I mean by parallel? Instead of running everything in one big continuous circle you piggyback the fan motor on top of the hard start power wires so that both items will get the same amount of power.

From your description, you have a bad evaporator fan motor. The part number for a replacement motor is #5304445861.This is not a direct replacement but is more reliable.Remove everything in the freezer, take off the back panels and you will see the fan.
If there is a large frost buildup on the coils and the fan is turning you have a defrost problem. If that is the case, please call me at 334-347-0000 and I will walk you through it.

As I mentioned before my Maytag was doing the same thing, I called Maytag expecting a big fight but they were really nice about it.
This is a recall problem and even if your warrenty is up Maytag will repair it at NO COST to you.
They shiped me the HV board and sent a repairman who had it fixed in about 10 minutes with a newley designed HV board.

CHECK THE DEFROST HEATER FOR CONTINUITY. IF IT IS O.K. CHECK THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL FOR A FAULTY SOLDER CONNECTION ON THE DEFROST RELAY. THE ELECTRONIC BOARD SHOULD BE LOCATED ON THE BACK WALL OF THE REFIGERATOR BEHIND AN ACCESS PANEL.
