It sounds like one of a few things.
1.) Something may be wrong with your hardware
2.) Your disc may be scratched or dirty.
3.) The lens in your console may be dirty.

The first tricks I'd suggest to you are these.

You can buy a DVD lens cleaning disc the generally run under 10$ and if you're not sure I'm pretty sure nintendo released one officially for the Wii.

If that fails try buying a GOOD quality disc repair/cleaning kit and follow it's directions explicitly.

If both these fail it is possible there is something wrong with your hardware or the disc itself is damaged beyond the point of repair(I doubt this) in which case give nintendo a call about the issue at 1-800-255-3700

When i put a disc in, it "stutters", ""skips" then sometimes it will play and sometimes it wont't. I just bought the new one and it won't play even after updating.

when you turn it on if it dims and brightens its a loose connection make sure all wire are fully in if it is skipping sometimes then there is probably something on the laser get some duster and blow it in there and see from there if it still does it then you might need to take it apart to fix it.

Freezing and then making a buzzing sound

You should make sure your disks are not scratched. You are able to turn the wii off without removing the the lead thing. Just hold the power button for a while on the counsle until it shuts off. Just out of curiousity.......and maybe a thing.........because this happened to me.........it froze because i entered a cheat and skipped to much in the game, but when i went back and did it the real way, it didn't freeze.
