Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

Picture goes out.

I have troubleshot this thing to the best of my ability, but cannot figure out what's wrong at this point. After turning the TV on, it stays on for a short period of time before the screen goes black. It will stay this way for a few minutes, then come back for a few seconds before going black again. The lamp light does not come on, but the standby light will flash continuously. I have checked all the connections, have it plugged into the wall socket, and even placed a fan behind it to see if cooling could be an issue. Still no luck. Any assistance would be appreciated, and if I need to replace a part, how to go about it. Thanks.

Re: Picture goes out.

I had the same problem. After spending many hours online reading forum posts, cleaning the bulb, reseating the bulb, and several other things. I bit the bullet and bought a bulb, everything was fixed when the bulb was replaced.

Is Worth Fixing Panasonic PT-50LC13-K Rear Projector TV

most likely a bad mainboard or bad caps in the power supply. Borderline on the repair-ability. I would check to see if used parts are available. If they are it may be worth it.

TV picture goes out after 10 minutes of viewing with popping sound

It can be a couple things. Something bad on the power board. Or the vertical output circuit. How long ago did you purchase the television. Your best course of action is to have it serviced.

Samsung sp46l6hv. lamp keep switchin off. the picture goes black still with volume on the goes off . tv goes back to stanby starts up then lamp goes off again this repeats . pls help

One of the most reasons that the samsung DLP tv will stop working is that the emergency switch on the back gets caught in the wrong position and makes your tv to turn off. Try to check the switch it is located under the lamp cover door. Good day and best regards.

The screen won't turn on. But, whenever you press the on button it turns red like it is turned on. What's wrong? And how can I fix this?

A very common problem with this TV model. You have a bad signal module or a bad small signal board. Leave your TV unplugged for a few days or a week. Then plug this TV and power on. If the TV comes on and plays well for a few seconds and goes out, the SSB needs replaced. The second thing would be to pull the back cover off. If TV is already on,you can see the rear filaments on the TV tubes lit. Still no picture..then your the signal module is bad and the Convergence ICs and resistors will need replaced. This is a good starting point. Definitely one of these two problems.

Picture & sound go on & off every sec, red light blinks 5 times

helloFive blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

Phillips 52'' projection tv.Picture goes small then large then off

Your original problem was/is an "opto" IC (chip),which causes the power supply to regulate low when it fails. It is a 6 or 8 pin chip. Sounds as if maybe more has failed now. Switch mode power supplies are not for the faint of heart,or DIY. I recommend having it troubleshot by a tech.
