My machine would not pick up the thread, the timing was off. This machine is not quite like a Singer in that I can not get the timing lined up. I've loosened the brackets holding the shaft for the needle. Any one with suggestions or diagrams would be appreciated. Please help!

Actually e2 is the button hole lever being down. e6 means that the thread is tangled and to prevent the motor from overheating the machine automatically stops. All you have to do is re-thread the machine and take the bobbin out, untangle it and put it back in and sew. This usually works. If it keeps happening, there could be a few things wrong.

1. if you are using thick fabric your tension should be lower. normal tension is 5.

2. your machine is out of alignment. take it in to a service center, they can fix it in 5 minutes. to find a service center near you go to http://www.brother-usa.com/service/

3. your needle is old or bent and should be replaced.

4. Your needle is too thick, standard is 80. The thicker the fabric, the thicker the needle.

My niece has this machine, was recently helping her sew with it -- I go the E6 code also - I believe it is the button lever is down - it is the white/beige 'flag' arm beside the presser foot - it needs to be raised back up to the case housing to clear the error - it means you do not have the proper stitches for the foot. Good Luck.

I am clearing my Mother's bungalow & have found a Pinnock Trendsetter Standard sewing machine but there are no instructions with it. As I want to try to sell it I wonder if I could get instructions for this machine. I earnestly await your reply

I have a brother cs-8060 sewing machine but I don't have the manual for it. When I start to sew the machine makes a loud sound the and woont sew normally and then I get an E6 flashing on the machine.

An E6 error indicates a thread tangle. Combined with the noises you are hearing my guess would be that the tangle is around the take-up lever pivot and is seizing the machine (causing an overload - hence why it won't sew). The origin of this is often a further thread tangle between the tension disks, which has allowed the thread to fly loosely around the take-up. Your best bet will be to take it to your local sewing centre. This is the sort of issue we commonly address as a part of servicing. You will find a description of what you might try in the Service Centre section of our shop's website http://www.kornacraft.com.au/sewingcentre-under-the-covers/

Operation Manual's say, "...Remove the tangled thread....the operation..." So I removed all the threads and still show E6 in the LCD panel!!! Please help.

Did you brush it out? Now, unplug and wait 15 seconds the plug in again. Totally rethread your machine and make sure the thread is not tangled. That should reset it. If not, call Brother at 1-877-276-8437

Ihave anerror E6 and I can no find the problem

Hi! The E6 error means the thread is tangled. I suggest you completely unthread the machine, including the bobbin. clean out any lint or bits of thread in the bobbin area, and carefully rethread.
Hope this helps!

My needle on my brother CS-100 sewing machine keeps getting stuck on the bobbin case. I think it may need to be retimed but do not know how to do this.

before you do that, make sure that the machine is threaded correctly. often when the needle is threaded from the wrong side, the thread is wrapped around the top wheels incorrectly, or the bobbin is not threaded right, it will cause the needle to get jammed in the bobbin. however, if this does not work, check their hotline and ask the maker what you should do. you can also go to a local sewing machine store and have them take a look at it.

E6 error on CS-100, thread underneath all knotted and tangled, makes grinding sounds.

Your bobbin is not wound correctly. Check and see if your bobbin thread is wound to loose or unbalanced.

E6 and F5 error message

Are you using the right size needle? Try using an 80. Also try taking it to a service center. To find one near you go here: http://www.brother-usa.com/service/
