Question about LG RUMOR Cellular Phone
I just bought a micro sd card with that adapter thing and took it home excited to finally get music on my phone. and tried to open the removable disk. it comes up on my computer a removable disk D:\
it would show the hour glass thing kinda freeze then an error notice would come up saying
"D:\ is not accesible
the request could not be performed because of an i/o devise error."
when i right click on the icon for the removable disk and find properties it shows that it can read how much space is on there. so it can read it.
so what does that mean?
bad card? bad port?
the port reads other memory cards....the 2gb card for the digital camera works fine in it.
what to do? i have the same exact problem
and i jus bought the micro Sd card
the brand is duracell
my Lg rumor phone recongnises it .. but my computer doesnt
when i insert th card a green light goes on the indicates that the computer knows the card is there.. buh when it comes to opening it .. it says that its not accessable
iv cheked the device manager
everything is fine
when i use the usb port for the micro sd card it says insert a disk into drive K

Unfortunately, we have found an incompatibility with a new revision of our microSD and the USB adapter that accompanied the card you purchased. We are in the process of solving the compatibility issue. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and would like to send a new card that is compatible with your USB adapter. Your original card should be functional in other adapters, phones, and cameras. The microSD card's compatibility problem should only exist with that USB Adapter. For your inconvenience, there will be no need to ship the original microSD card back to us so feel free to keep and use them both. We would also like to send you two free music downloads from Duracell Flash Memory.
If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please let us know your full name, address, the size of the microSD, and the name and location of the store from which you purchased your microSD. When we receive your information we will ship your replacements parts and music downloads immediately.

Go to BestBuy and buy a USB SD reader that says, "SDHC". Test the 4GB card on the new reader.
None of you mentioned "microSDHC". All 4GB "microSD" cards are actually NOT microSD, they are microSDHC. Older readers that were compatible with microSD (probably with a sleeve to make it fit in an SD slot), are often NOT compatible with microSDHC. If your 4GB Duracell card (or any other 4GB) is your only 4GB card and all your other "working" microSD cards are 2GB or less, there is a good chance that the problem is actually due to your reader being obsolete. There is no firmware update or driver that you can download to make such readers compatible with the new technology and there are no microSD cards larger than 2GB. I know the Duracell cards are not actually made by Duracell and are just as high quality as any other brand you'll find out there.

I had the same problem with my duracell 4gb sd card for my rumor. I used it on my laptop and it didn't recognize it, so i tried my mom's and it also didn't recognize it. finally i tried my brother's computer and it read the card. I think it might be that the card can only be read from newer models of computers.
So its all great for me until ii try to drag and drop music onto the card and it comes up with a "Error while copying to "disk"." message. it won't let me put any type of file on it.
