I have no wireless connection either. Sometimes I will need to shut down the computer 2-3 times because the cursor goes wildly about the screen. Aftre rebooting it serveral times it will operate normally cursor and pageappear to operate okay. How where can I have these files installed or can I install these drivers? need all the help I can get! Help!! Scott

hi
Boot the pc with erd commander (the one with XP) with the hard disk plugged in, and so you should access the hdd, then erd has also a tool to administrate the plugin, uninstall all these hdd plugin you have installed, then reboot without the usb hdd plugged, and when XP loads, plug this HDD to another USB. This should force XP to install again the drivers (that generic from XP) that uses to work.

Use whatever computer you used to find the drivers you will need to download. download them to a flash drive. the drivers you will need can be located by going to
start
control panel
system
click the hardware tab
then device manager

that will give you a list of everything installed on your system. if you click on the icons that have a red x or yellow exclamation point. those are the drivers you will need. write them done then go google where you can look them up and download thhem to the flash drive.

after you have them on your flash drive take it back to your computer and install them

From that web site download the drivers for your model including the wireless network card drivers.
You can check devices needs drivers by right- click "My Computer" select "Manage" then double-click on "Device Manager" and on the right pane you will see all the devices that are in your computer. The ones with yellow exclamations (or question mark) are the ones you need correct drivers installed or upgraded. Once you installed the correct drivers it wont have this yellow exclamation no more and they become usable..i.e your wireless network connection.

If it possible for you to wire ths laptop to the router so it will have internet connection, you can install or update all drivers needed for it, by going to Device manager and there you will see the devices that don't have any driver installed on it, just right click those device and select update driver and it will search driver to the internet automatically....

Where can I download a Toughbook CF-18 Tablet PC Recovery Disk, mine disappeared. rc

Finding a complete recovery disc is prooving difficult. i have found a couple of alternatives to getting a complete install on disc, but they do take a little bit more time.

if you have a copy of the windows which you wish to run your system on. which nowadays arent hard to comeby, then you can use this link as a driver and compac software restore disk
http://www.user-guides.co.uk/cddownload/Panasonic/PanasonicToughbook/Panasonic-Toughbook-CF-18-XP-Driver-CD-Recovery-Restore-Disk-108878.html

however these downloads / cd'a have to be purchased. i really wouldnt bother with it. drivers and apps for compac arent a must have and usually just do things to make the GUI fancey or easy to use. most drivers will be picked up on windows install and the rest wont be hard to track down. a standard windows install is surfice for most things and runs quicker than an install full of tosh little programs.
