Assuming you have never used a password on the computer, deleting the user name and leaving both fields blank will work. Failing that, there are utilities available to reset the password on Windows systems, post again with the operating system you are using.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I just bought a laptop from the pawnshop and it has a password lock. how do you restore a computer to factory condition?

This laptop could have been stolen property, that is why there is a password lock.
I suggest you take it back to the pawn shop and get your money back.

Bought a gateway laptop fm pawnshop already locked. Need a code to unlock

The pawnshop should have the code as they bought the item. If they do a simple phone call should get you the information you need.
If they do not have the code report them for bad business as the laptop may have been stolen. (Why else would they not have access to the code?) Even if it was bought legit they sold it to you without a code to access you item. (Your not going to buy a locked safe are you?)
The only way I know to get past a locked computer is to reinstall the OS (Most likely Windows)
This is complicated and should only be done by someone who know how. There may bve other ways but I am not aware of them. Good Luck, and call that pawn shop!!!

I have a acer laptop computer, there is a person name and password on there and i can't remove it off, bought it at pawnshop, how do i enter my own information?

Try to logon as administrator. At logon screen press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to popup the logon dialog window. Instead of the person name type "administrator". Do not enter any password in the field. Press OK. If you're lucky you will log on as administrator. Then use Control Panel -> Users to remove the current user and create a new one.
If you cannot logon as administrator, then you can use a program for removing passwords, loaded from a bootable CD like Superutilities or Hiren Boot CD. Reinstalling Windows is a solution too.

I bought a desktop at a pawnshop and i dont know the password for it what do i do to get through

Power up your computer
start lightly tapping F8
It should bring up a menu, if not power down and try again
At the menu, choose SAFE MODE
Once the login screen displays, choose ADMINISTRATOR ( if that isn't an option, see below)

Hopefully, it logs you in, if it does;
click START
click RUN
Highlight your username and click RESET PASSWORD button.
Type in your new password twice, reboot and tada!

Got a aspire 5570 2052 at pawshop need password

*Immediately* upon powering up your machine, start hitting the "F8" button. You should receive a b/w screen. Using the up/down arrow keys, go to the "Start in SAFE MODE" (no networking). Hit ENTER.
The machine should boot into SAFE mode, with an "ADMINISTRATOR" user-id. Click on this id. Usually, there's no password assigned for this id, and you should be able to enter Windows, then go into Control Panel;Users, and remove the password for all other user ids. Then restart and boot normally.
Good luck!

No user password for hp dv9000

When seeing the log on screen of the user, press
CTRL, ALT and Del a couple of times untill a box appears asking for user name and password.
In user name type: Administrator and leave the password field blank, this should allow you to get on and delete that account.
Hope this helped

Hdd password reset

Laptops have the option to password protect for security purposes. If the laptop should be lost-stolen. this is to ensure your personnal data, cannot be accessed by any tom dick and harry.
Post your laptop model number, and i,ll see if anything can be done.
i do not endorse password removal, as the majority of the time, a user cannot prove that the laptop actually belongs to them.
I,d also feel happier if you could also prove in any way, that you are the legal owner of the laptop in question.
