SOURCE: shuts off after a few minutes

Could be a bad wire, but most likely a motor going bad. If motor you would look at about $90 just for the part.

Motor quits

Does it come back on right away or do you have to wait a while. It could be faulty thermal sensor because it should not overheat in 30 seconds. Probably will need to replace motor if so.

My Sharp EC-l2TWT4 throws belts and I noticed the motor shaft was not running straight. My wife took it to my local dealer in Brainerd,Mn and they said it was fine.So I took it apart and found the plastic...

I checked the schematics for that model and the motor housing for that model is no longer available. Your best bet is to either attempt to find a used part or trade it in and get a new unit. Sharp no longer makes any vacuums or parts which makes these almost obsolete because most of the parts are discontinued.let me know if you have any other questions or would like to talk about recommendations. thanks, chuck

Sharp ec-14twt6 won't start

if the motor spindle spins easily when turned by hand, the motor brushes need replacing. if it doesn't, either something is stuck in the turbine, or the motor is siezed. if the motor is siezed, it needs to be replaced.

There is only one for all uprights made by sharp and another for the power nozzles.

Electrical

I have the same vacuum at home and can take a picture, but I believe it is wired in this order. Hot wire (black) from cord goes to the switch then the switch to the fuse, then the fuse to the cable that goes down to the light and motor. The neutral (white) wire from the cord is connected to the neutral (black with white stripe) side of the wire going to the motor and light.

Electrical problem

The light is separate from motor. No reset switch. Check for a fuse but i suspect it may be brushes are worn out and not making contact.Sometimes that starts as an intermittent.
Hopefully one of the coils isn't open circuited.

Sharp Twin Energy EC-T2840 - no suction

Unfortunately, this probably means that your motor is burned out, since the headlight is on the same circuit as the motor.
You can take it in for service, but replacement of a motor in a twin energy will probably be more money than it's worth, and that's assuming that the motor is available.
It's still worth taking in though, most places will give you free estimates, and repair techs are the best people to ask about new vacuums if yours is unsalvageable.

Best of luck,

-R

Stopped working

Well it could be the motor, if it is it would cost around $80 or so for a motor. May be better to buy new, thre are a number of good brands out there.
