I have a GE profile dryer model# DPVH890Ejww upon starting it turns for about 2 seconds then stops turning.I was going to check the belt ,But couldn't even figure how to get the back off and I'm very...

couldn't pull up the model number so if it's a newer model you have to take out the top panel screws in the back, then go to the front and pop off the timer knob and there's a screw there that lets you remove the front control panel and then you can get at the other screws that hold the top on,this isn't an easy dryer to work on,it has a funky belt system in it.if it's an older model open the door and look up at the top panel, you'll see two screws there, remove them and remove the top panel, then look down the sides and you'll see a screw on each side remove them and remove the front panel.hope this helps.i'm going by memory and unplug the dryer before you get into it.

I need to find out where the defrost heater and defrost thermostat are located on a GE model # GSS23WSTA

remove the lower inside back panel inside the freezer and the heater and thermostat are on the coil behind the panel, its straight forward to replace these when you get the panel off and the frost all melted away from the coil

Trying to remove oven element. I removed screws,

Hi, it would be easier for a novice just to simply pull the unit out from the wall and remove the lower panel at the back. Behind this panel you will expose the terminals for the heater. Remove the terminals (wires) and then go round the front and take the screws out. Next pull on the heater and it should slide out. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Mike

How do I remove the control panel on model JE2160

You need to take the back cover off using a special tork wrench. If you don't have one a thin blade screw driver usually works. after getting the back cover off access is pretty easy to remove the screws from the panel. Make sure to discharge the capacitor before attempting any repairs and unplugged of course.
