Question about Toshiba 62HM95 62" DLP HDTV

1 Answer

I replaced the lamp on my toshiba 42HM66 and that worked for about 2 weeks. I ordered a new lamp and replaced it. Now the lamp light blinks amber and then the power light blinks green at about 30 second intervals, still no picture.

You will need to check if the output supply going to the lamp is good. If not the ballast will need replacement. That model is actually famous for haveing ballast issues. You can get the replacement ballast from www.tvcircuitboards.com they also assist with installation assistance if you require it.

What does hdmi is blocked mean

Hello!
HDMI blocked could mean, that one or more HDMI inputs are turned off. In WD- series DLP TVs it's possible to disable one or more inputs, which are not to be in use, to speed up signal source switching. Most of modern sets are constantly monitoring inputs and automatically recognizing "plug"n"play" signals. blocking any input would not cause TV to shut down.
Yellow(amber) light means: lamp door interlock switch is off or malfunction. green blinking: set is initializing, about to begin normal operation. So: quite possible that lamp has been replaced incorrectly or door is not tight intermittently. Last possible issue: door's interlock switch is bad. Take lamp door off and you will find the switch with blue lever on the left side of the door inside plastic compartment. Push it with your "pinky" or pencil carefully, then ask someone to turn set on. Make sure, yellow light is off, before do so. If set starts normally, observe lamp's activity: it should stay on and getting brighter, while you holding switch. If lamp stops working, while there is no "amber" light, then TV shuts off, red blinks, lamp is bad. I just had to replace lamp twice, due to defective batch of lamps with housing. 3rd time I replaced bare bulb and it solved the problem. But there was no "amber" issue!
good luck,
Alex.

Lamp will not light. I thought it was burnt out, so I bought a new bulb and it still does not work. The error code appears to be 4 green and 2 orange, but there is no error code in the manual with that...

I own a 62HM115 and replaced lamps every 11/2 year. One day it just wont turn on. I see amber light blinking, resets itself and starts all over. I googled for causes, and it appears it is the power ballast, I bought a ballast for $99.00 and now everything works. I had to remove it myself and looking at the back of it I was able to get the right one. There are so many variations of it. It is very simple to remove.

here is an example http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=14772991#post14772991

If you try to find a solution and nothing works, I will advise on buy on the ballast. Jere are some sites to buy. Buy the one that will allow you to return it if it is not the cause of the problem.

this is a bad color wheel, however you cannot just change the color wheel on this set you have to replace the entire light engine.

WD-62525, continous amber lamp light. No picture. Lamp is good.

Hello:

Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

I will be watching tv and it will cut off by itself. the lamp light will blink about 7-8 times

Have you replaced the lamp before? if not i might be going out, but if you have, there's a possibility that the ballast is sending irregular voltage to the lamp, which causes it to got out :)

Loud humming noise while Toshiba 42HM66 is operating

Hi, it isn`t rocket science but it is difficult to do if you`ve never done one before, and you may have to do an index alignment after the new one is installed, that means call a tv tech or buy the service manual, I`d recommend you call your local techs and ask price for them to replace,gl, video-tek
