You can pop out your hdd make sure you have had system off for 2 hours prior to doing this and unhook all cables this is located on side with a cover that has hdd on it use a flat head screwdriver to pop it out it should come out easy then there is one blue screw unscrew this and slide the hdd right until it is all the way right then pull straight out the put it back in and slide it all the way left until it clicks into place then put blue screw back and cover then try to boot system.

Www xbox support

What disc? a game? ...... If it is a game disc, (I found after many hours of usual research), that when you purchase xbox games New and Used, you need to make sure they were manufactured in the correct Region, ie: Country or origin of the USA. If the disc is from a different region you will constantly have issues with xbox reading the disks....Funny they don't tell you that, and I found this out after purchasing a used game off of amazon and spending more time trying to get the xbox to read the disk than I did playing the game.

Games wont read

If you have the problem where the Xbox 360 will not read your discs then you need to stop the sensors overheating and to do this you can send it back to Microsoft or fix it yourself

Hard drive not Reading CD-R Discs

First off. Your hard drive cannot read CD's. Your CD-ROM is not reading CD's. Well a few things can be wrong there. 1. The CD-ROM is dead 2. The drivers for the CD-ROM needs updating 3. The CD that you are trying to read is curropt or damaged.
Start checking to eliminate and let me know.

Powerbook G4 wont start up, shows a file folder with a ? mark....

The hard drive is probably on it's way out. You can get and run Disk Warrior and you could repair permissions and such but the hard drive is probably on it's way to the grave.

A couple things though. It isn't enough to just put the disk in, you need to hold down "c" while the computer starts for it to try to run off your disk. You can then try to repair permissions and fix the disk from the installation program that starts. When the Install OS X screen comes up (looks like a desktop but with the big dialog box in the middle) click on Utilities at the top and then on Disk Utility. HERE IS APPLE'S SITE for you to read about how to try to repair your disk. I've found that this sometimes works and may help it work enough for you to get your files off, but may not.

Another method would be to get another Mac, and hook the two together with a firewire to transfer your files, then reinstall OS X in your ailing computer. Go HERE to read about this technique.

Computer shows invalid system disc, wont let me do anything else

This might be simple.
Assuming your son didn't make any internal changes to your computer. The problem may be that he changed your boot sequence to boot to floppy or CD instead of the Hard Drive.
Do the following:

As your computer is starting you will briefly have the option to hit F8 (I think F8 Might be another) for "start up menu or options".
This will take you to a screen of text where following the on screen text areas and moving the curser with the keyboard arrows and enter or escape check your boot sequence (the order of where your computer is to look for start up information)

It should read as follows:
#1 HDD1 (this text may vary)
#2 CDROM drive
#3 FLOPPY (if you have one) or other removable drive

If your son changed this and forgot to it back your computer may be trying to get start up information from a CD or Floppy instead of your hard drive.

Once you've changed this (assuming you needed to change it) following the instructions use the key to "save changes and exit"
Your computer should now boot up correctly.

Let me know if this helps

The fan

explain better.

if the fan is damaged, replace the fan. the fan wouldnt cause disc read error. only they that would cause is the system to overheat.

replace the laser on the slim ps2. this will correct the problem. make sure u get the correct model laser. if not the laser wont match the firmware. the model can be found under the laser. google the model laser on try ebay
