Thin whites lines at top of t.v. screen

If the lines are slightly diagonal at the top----bad filter cap in vertical circuit at the I.C. used for the vertical output--called feedback cap or the vertical output chip itself---if the cap and set used too long it will destroy the chip.

I have a 52 inch mitsubishi dlp and white dots are popping up on the sceen and stays there a whole bunch of little white dots what is that.

All TV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables.

If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen.

Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens.

The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them.

Good luck.

I have an old mitsubishi TV model cs 35203 serial 515512, and all that shows up on the screen is a thin horizontal line through the middle.

You either have a cold solder connection on the vertical output IC401 or a failure of the Vertical output IC altogether. The part number should be labeled clearly on the front of the chip and is likely LA7836 or LA7837. It's difficult to reference parts on a set this old. Remove the chassis and visibly inspect the solder connections. If they look good, replace the chip. Good luck

My mitsubishi vs 60607 big screen will not come on...green timer light comes on then off....tried holding down menu and input buttons and the code it gives me is 2 flashes and then 4 flashes...what does...

The 2,4 error code means a problem in the Vertical circuit.

This could (due to the age of the set) be bad solder connections at the vertical output chip or a part bad anywhere in the circuit.

Problem is in Vertical circuit.

If this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

The tv clicks on but it clicks right back off why? its a vs 6047 model mitsubishi

I am not familiar with this particular TV model, but what you describe is usually the power supply switching the heavy current circuit on and then switching it off in a few seconds since it does not detect the high voltage it expects and presumes there's been a short circuit somewhere.

Most of the times it's not actually a short circuit, it's either a blown fuse or an element that went completely open and prevents the power supply from working.

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. This should not be an expensive job at most repair shops. Could be something as simple as cracked, cold, defective solder joints around and near the vertical output chip, could be a faulty chip and other components in and around the vertical deflection circuitry, or a faulty vertical drive signal from the jungle circuits, or worst case a faulty deflection yoke. Take your television to a shop right away for a proper and safe repair. Do not keep the television looking at the red horizontal line.... you can easily damage or burn the CRT phosphors. Good luck
