Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have a Carrier Weathermaker Model 58SXAO80-GG. I turned on the heat earlier and I could hear the unit start, but there was never any warm air coming through the registers. I looked at the unit and the little blue flame igintes when I turn on the unit, but no air is forced through the ducts.

I am having the same problem. I have replaced almost everything on this furnace but still it won't light. I did figure out that I can manually light the pilot when the fan turns on and that will allow the main burners to light. the furnace seams to run normally until it gets up to temperature and shuts off normally. but when it comes tiem for it to turn back on and light, it wont' so I have to manually light it again. Sure would be nioce if I could get some suggestions on what the problem could be.

Heat exchanger replacement for carrier weathermaker 8000

After 18 years of service, it is not cost effective to just replace the heat exchanger. Go the complete replacement route. There may be a utility company incentive to do it.

The gas line has air in it, Turn the unit off, at breaker or unplug it. Bleed the air out of the gas line, It should take about 5 seconds to bleed. Tighten gas line, Plug or reset breaker and unit should fire.

Are the tips of the flame blue? You might need to adjust the air mixture sleeve on the burner.

Where does the 3 prong inducer plug into? Carrier Weathermaker Model 58SXAO80-GG Serial 1490A02296

Hi, it would either plug into the circuit board/control board, or have a connector of the same, either male or female it would plug directly into. This is a 120 volt inducer motor. Look for the other end of the plastic plug.

I have a new home 1 yr and when the furnace kicks in, I am assuming the fan it makes a noise but as soon as the heat starts the noise is gone, could this be the furnace blower

Check by turning the unit off and turn the fan to on. Do you hear the noise now? The noise your hearing could be coming from your combustion fan assembly instead. Newer furnaces have a in-shot burner and are nosier than the old style of heater.

Carrier Weathermaker SX model 58SX060-CC Blower runs all the time

Remove all power from the furnace, it is likely the brain in the furnace is need of being reset, from the battery replacement, why did you change the battery, was there an indicator telling you to change it?

Many times just removing all the power to the furnace will do the trick with a reset, if not let me know and we will go from there, but it sounds like the main brain is confused or bad, more likely confused, so try the power removed first.

Than let me know wbwill@sbcglobal.net
