Question about Apevia Computers & Internet
After Windows 8 upgrade, the external monitor, connected via HDMI does not work. There seems to be no working driver for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 which is present in the computer. A compatibility test available at AMD says that the new drivers are not compatible with my system. The driver downloadable at Acer does not work either. Any ideas?
Being a new OS the drivers are available for older systems or devices, sometimes you can use win 7 drivers 32 or 64 bit. The problem may be you have to modify the drivers to work with your specific machine. I had to do the same when I upgraded a Gateway MX6421 (born in 2005) to Win 7 pro N 64bit, I modified a few lines of code in the driver and changed the drivers compatible to win 7.

Thanks for all the details..
The issue seems to be with the video card drivers here...
Go to www.hp.com/suport and download the latest video card and the chipset drivers
before you download ...uninstall the nvidia chipset or any display software from program and features.
after you have installed the software.. go to the nvidia control panel > setup multiple monitors. and browse throughout the options >
It should be dual display and not extended display.
Also try with a new user profile...
Hope this helps..

well... hard to say, given that ze4300 is a SERIES of laptops, therefore have a variety of model featuring different specifications. If it's the driver you need, you can download it HERE - compatible with Windows 2k/XP.
Hope I helped,

SOURCE: I can not find ATI
try visiting this link.
just choose what platform of Windows 7 you have (32bit or 64bit)
-if you don't know how to look for it:
-Click on start>type msinfo32 on the search box
-it will show you the system information window and look for system type
- if it says x86, it is a 32bit version
then expand the Drivers-Graphics item:
-you will be given 2 options to select from. and its between intel or ATI
-just select ATI and it will be compatible with your graphics card
-download the file and install.
