Question about Jwin JV-DTV27 27 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television

Open Question

Color problem A couple years back I bought a jWin JV-DTV27 Lcd "hdtv ready" tv set. Somewhere about one year ago it started showing a erratic color problem: The light color areas of a scene display red bands, of moderate intensity. The bands are about 2mm wide and separated another 2mm between them. In the darker areas, the bands are still present, but very faint. The bands have a "noisy" texture, they are not solid. If I switch channels or do anything that bring on screen a popup window (like changing the aspect ratio, or volume, whatever), the screen gets crossed by thin vertical red lines, about 20 of them, separated about 20mm each, and leaving about 50 mm clear at both sides and about 25mm clear above and below. These thin lines stay for as long the popup overlay stays on screen. The most weird thing is that the problem appears and goes without any other consequence. It may last for a few minutes or for hours, or disappear for months. Humid days seem to me to be more likely for the lines to appear. I brought the TV set from USA to Argentina, can not get it back for repairs. No knowledgeable official service here, not on warranty period either. When the problem appears I just switch to a low intensity color profile and the TV is still viewable, but somehow, even when no one else complains at home, the faint lines still hurt my eyes. Could someone please explain what the problem is, and how to fix it ? Thanks

This sounds like micro glitch try unpluging the tv and all controlable inputs (PC, iLinks, or other such devices) wait 5 min then plug the tv only in and see if you have returned functions. if you should read the manuals of those devices to see if the control functions can be turned off.

I am sure there is one to download. If google is no help, just ask some deep web specialists, e.g. - this is a manual search agency and if they don´t find it, it does not exist in the Internet.

Tv wont power on

A TV nor turning on is most likely caused by a faulty power supply or main board. Are you intending to fix the set yourself?

Sharp Aquos has distorted colors

The set should be transported upright but that rarely causes these issues-----suspect either main signal board or also possible is the power supply (for voltages changing when set is on).

Also if set was opened look for all plugs to be seated--ones with cloth tape where they connect look at first.

failing that based on age of set consider having a technician look at it or if over 3 years consider a new set with extended warranty--70% of this type of set in our shop (100 plus sets at any time in for repair) are less than 3 years old.

I bought this tv, more or less 4 years ago, and I'm live in brazil. So, when I got here the Tv was black and white, no color! What's wrong? Can we help me?

Depending on where the set was purchased (USA) it may be NTSC format and Brazil is likely to be different format like PAL or even Seacam---they do make converter boxes that will convert signal from one format to another.

Usually a color missing is a bent pin if you are using it as a PC monitor. Definately check your cables and see if the problems follows the input selections. If it does it most likely is a electronic component failure. Of course this assumes the settings aren't randomly messed up. You might be wanting to invite that guy that always has things taken apart when you visit...or start watching online sales...head's up on repair bills...a similar product costs $400 new, 300 refurbished.
