Very helpful. The timer is a digital 7-day plug-in with LCD above outlet

  • Jeffrey Baker Nov 06, 2012

I am still working thru your response. So far no direct comparison but I'll keep going!

  • Gene Haynes Nov 06, 2012

Comment with description of timer buttons. I have extensive files, and might be able to locate same. Or create possible steps.

  • Jeffrey Baker Nov 06, 2012

LCD slopes back at 45 deg above socket. From LHS: Set, Day, Hrs, Mins, Oride

  • Jeffrey Baker Nov 06, 2012

2 lights at LHS beneath buttons 'power' and 'O/p'

  • Gene Haynes Nov 06, 2012

Is this a thermostat? The power and O/p indicator lights sound like thermostat. Power light is ON when unit has power. O/p turns on when unit is operating. I'm still researching.

  • Gene Haynes Nov 06, 2012

    Smith makes the ET 05 plug-in thermostat:http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/H...

  • Gene Haynes Nov 06, 2012

I do not have a timer with similar buttons. If you want best-guess instructions, then comment back and i will write out possible steps. Contact smiths, maybe the email works: feedback@tlc-direct.co.uk

  • Jeffrey Baker Nov 07, 2012

It uses the same box as ET 05 but has 5 buttons instead of 3 and the LCD window is bigger.

  • Gene Haynes Nov 07, 2012

Buttons sound like timer: Here a beginning and then see what happens, then comment back:http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/ET07-tim...

This is pretty much as Gene Haynes describes. The Set button cycles through

Gene Haynes has it pretty near right. Additional information: There are seven settable on-off pairs of times, and you select which days each applies to. The initial display shows (what should be) the current time and day, and whether power is currently ON or INT (off). The first press of the set button takes you to the display where you can set the time and day now. The next press of the set button takes you to where you set the first On time. The next press takes you to the first Off time (labelled INT). Subsequent presses of Set take you through the next six On-Int pairs, ending back at the display of the current time. Setting the current time and day is straightforward, remembering that times are displayed as a.m. and p.m., not in 24-hour form. Setting an On time is also straightforward. But then you need to choose which days it applies to. This is done by pressing the Day button until the day you want to select flashes, and then pressing the Override (O'ride) button to place an X against the day you want to exclude. Repeat to exclude other days.

Add a comment with more detail and describe the timer.
Otherwise ET 07 timer does not show in my files or with google search or google image search.

Smith posts manuals

If it is ordinary analog plug-in-the-wall timer, copy following link for instructions by experimenting with features:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-set-timers.html

I also have manuals for other timers, that may be similar to your timer, and same instructions might work.

Yes I know timers and can help.
There are 100's of programmable timers, Trac 24/hour/7/day timer is not fully identified.
Add a comment any time.
Review options below:

1) Add a comment and describe timer in detail, and/or post in-focus photo on flickr and send link for possible identification. Comment sends e-mail and I will respond.

2) Open following links to identify same-similar timer.
Look at the buttons carefully since many timers have very similar buttons, and identical programming. And then open the .pdf manual for same-similar timer to see if it matches.

I have lost the instructions for use of smiths plug in digital timer etu02

10-30-12
Smith's ETU02 timer does not appear on the Smith's manual page:
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/DataSheets/Smiths/Index.htm

Other sites report this 7-day digital timer is discontinued, but can be replaced with similar timer from local box store locally.

Another option is to search following page for same-similar timer that might yield a manual similar to your timer.
