Question about Computers & Internet
Cannot access internet when connecting my PC using Ethernet to zyxel P-330W to motoroal SB5101U cable modem. No issues connecting to internet when PC is connected directly to cable modem. Did not have the issue when my router was connected to old Cisco Cable modem 2100
Hello try this:
Reset the router by pressing a small knob at the back of your router
with power on for 10 sec. and release.Now the router is reset to factory settings.Wait for it to boot up again.
Connect a lan cable to your pc and to the router to one of the
ports at the back 1 to 4.
Open your browser and type in this number in seach field:
192.168.1.1 and press enter
Now you have to enter the password: 1234 and username: admin
Now you can change your wireless login.
Remember to save your settings.
Next connect your cable modem to the internet port.
Do not use password that are easy so others can use your internet connection.

This is what I would do I would connect the wireless to the internet direct and allow all PC with wireless capabilities to access the net through that wireless irrespective to where I place the wireless router. Alternative I would link the cable on on the second floor the one you use for the PC to access the net to access the the wireless it should automatic allocate IP addresses as each machine accesses the network. The speed of that wirless is decreased as each wireless PC comes on line.

SOURCE: Not recognized by cable modem
Turn everything off for 2 minutes, cable modem, router and pc.
Turn on modem and wait 2 minutes for the modem to sync to TW.
Turn on router after 2 mins and wait until the router syncs with the modem.
Turn on PC
It sounds like your router lost its connection to the cable modem, which happens from time to time. TW will not help with your router. I worked for a cable co and the router and modem losing sync was the at least 70% of the calls. FYI cable doesn't use DSL,just the phone co.

You actually should call comcast and tell them about the issue, They have a backdoor into your modem that they can troubleshoot it for you. The issue with their modems is they are usually locked with some weird password they use.
Usually with a modem or router you can dial an internal page but there system like Time Warner is set to their needs so that they can keep that back-door open.
Comcast phone number is 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-Comcast same numbers thats just the way they word it on their site.
