Remove lid of top loading washing machine Kenmore 110.92575110

How do I take the lid off? It looks like there are four screws, two each side, but the rear two are blocked by the control console. There is only an inch or so of clearance for the back two screws. Is there some way that the lid comes off without removing the back screws?

Remove 2 screws that hold the console in place. Most are at the rear corners of the console. Pull console forward and up and tilt back. There are 2 brass clips holding the cabinet in place. then the cabinet can be removed by tilting forward and away from base. there is no reason to remove the lid.

I need to remove the lid as well. And yes there ARE reasons to remove just the lid and not the cabinet. I have a rusting area I want to refinish and removing the cabinet doesn't help that at all as it is under the lid. Yet the few places this question is asked people are saying how to remove the cabinet. I love how other people decide what you "need" to do.

Working on a Kenmore 80 series (11020872990) washing machine, do you remove the rear panel or the front/sides panel?

no don't touch the back at all.unplug it,then pop off the white end caps on the console and remove the two phillips screws, lift up the console, unplug the lid switch connection in the top middle and with a screw driver pop off the metal clips, just stick the screw driver in the hole and on top of the clip and just push towards the back wall and it will pop out, then open the lid and tilt the frame forwards and back at you and remove the hole outside frame.what problem are you having?let me know how you make out

How do I open the top lid to get to the lid switch on a Kenmore 70 series washing machine?

Remove the screw on both sides of the control panel . Pull the panel foreward and tilt back . Unplug the plug coming out of the cabinet and using a flat head screwdriver , pop the clip on both sides thru the slots closest to the front of the cabinet . Tilt the whole cabinet foreward . Do not try taking the lid off the washer .

My Kenmore 20902 washing machine lid is rusted. I...

Hello, Guest who?

Getting the lid off of your Kenmore is simple. Raise the lid. At the bottom on each side are a pair of screws that go through the lid and attach to a reinforcing bracket on the inside. Take these screws out, remove the bracket, do the same for the other side. A small bowl or ziplock will keep these small bits from getting away. When you have repainted or replaced the lid, insert the bracket with the loop down, and insert the screws from the outside through the lid.

Done!

REMOVE THE 2 SCREWS ON TOP DOWN AT THE BASE OF THE CONTROL PANEL, SLIDE IT FORWARD A BIT AND LIFT IT UP IT IS HINGED IN THE REAR. NOW REMOVE THE TWO BRASS LOOKING CLIPS FROM THE TOP AND REMEMBER HOW THEY GO BACK UNDO THE LID SWITCH CONNECTOR(IT LOOKS LIKE IT GOES THROUGH THE TOP DOWN INSIDE). NOW GRASP THE CABINET AND PULL TOWARD YOU TILL THE BOTTOM DISENGAGES FROM THE WASHER BASE.NOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE LID SWITCH
