Magnavox RH4560 Ch01 27" TV
Recently a capacitor burned up in my TV. It's labeled R403 on the board, but I can't determine the value because all the writing is burned off. It's on the right side of the board, where the power cord enters, about 1/2 way back.
Anybody have a schematic, or can figure out what value to use as a replacement.
R403 would usually denote a resistor and not a capacitor.
Capacitors do fail but usually don't burn out in such a way but resistors do, usually because something has happened elsewhere in the circuit that overloads the resistance. I have never seen a burned capacitor but I have seen resistors glowing with heat and some white hot until they virtually evaporate blackening nearby components.
I suggest you take another closer look at the circuit board...

Do you have a cable box? If so try turning up the volume on it.

I commend your courage in taking your monitor apart. I hope it was out of warranty when you did it; because it is out of warranty now.
I have no idea where to find the info you are looking for. Monitors are cheap now, though.

If it is in the power supply better check the rest of them. most should all be the same value so you may be able to get the value for the burnt one from that. good luck

These guys will repair the board-- maybe call them and see where to get the part if you are going to try and do it yourself--
