If the monopod is slipping and getting shorter as you use it, then find the clamp that is not secure. flip open the clamp lever and using a small socket wrench, turn that nut about 1/8 of a turn. Test the slippage. if is still slips give it another 1/8 turn. Do this until is is not slipping. Do not over tighten the nut or you may damage the clamp or leg tube.

If it is the head, I will need more info as to which head you have on that monopod.

I have a slim af2100 tripod head. How do you adjust the grip on the top plate as its slipping and won't hold the camera firmly?

The plate should screw to the camera, and the tighting screw would provide the right amount of tensio to hold the camera. Make sure the rubber gripper on the top if the quick release is not missing, if it is, then there is nothing to grip and it will slip.

How do I change the thread size on my monopod?

You should not need to change the thread size on your monopod. All tripods, monopods, cameras and other accessories have standard fittings. Check that you haven't accidentally crossed the threads on your Panasonic which would make it difficult to locate the threads to tighten it.

Also, check that you are not trying to screw the monopod into the hole. Some cameras have a smaller hole beside the tripod thread.

You may be able to contact your monopod manufacturer in case they supply an adapter that wasn't supplied with your monopod.

Ball slipping

Check out this page and see if there are any parts here that might be what you're looking for:
http://www.bogentripodparts.com/parts/head322RC2.htm
However, I'm not sure there's a way to fix a ball head tripod due to how the tension works for the ball that it rests on. You can also order a new head from the same website. If you have any questions, shoot us an email at email@spartanphotocenter.com
