Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam

Camera will not uninstall so that i can re-install

The camera will not work after I restored my computer and I can not find out how to uninstall the camera so that I can re-install. when I try to re-install it goes most of the way and then says install error can not install.

Do you still want to use it? If so,
Normal 0
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Check Device Manager
Open Device Manager. (In Windows 8, hold the Windows key and press the 'x' key to open a menu in the lower-left. Select "Device Manager" from this menu. In Windows 7, search for it in the Start Menu's search field.) There should be an entry titled "Imaging devices" that can be expanded. The webcam should be listed under Imaging devices. If it's listed, continue to the next troubleshooting section. If it isn't there, try slowly closing the laptop while continuing to watch the Device Manager. If it suddenly appears, it indicates a hardware failure and a repair would be needed. If it never appears, continue to the next section.
Reinstall Software
Right-click the camera in the Device Manager and select "Uninstall," then restart your computer. The computer should reinstall its camera driver.
If that doesn't work, check the Toshiba support site for an updated camera driver. For instructions on how to find your downloads from Toshiba, please see the following Knowledge Base article.

Look under the "Camera" category, and download the appropriate one for your version of Windows. Some laptops may not have one listed. This is fine, as many models don't use a specific camera driver, allowing Windows to provide the driver.
Check the UEFI or BIOS Settings

Some computers have the option of disabling the webcam in the UEFI or BIOS settings. Ensure that's it's enabled by performing the following steps. Note that some computers might not have this setting.
  1. Turn your computer off. If your computer uses Windows 8, hold SHIFT while seleting "Shut down" to perform a complete shut down.
  2. Start the computer.
  3. Begin tapping F2 when the TOSHIBA splash screen appears to enter the UEFI or BIOS settings. On some models, you might need to hold F2 while booting. If you have trouble entering the UEFI settings, please see the article titled How To: Enter the system BIOS or UEFI in Windows 8
  4. Select Advanced
  5. Select System Configuration
  6. Select Web Camera.
  7. Ensure it's set to Enabled.
  8. Save and exit.
System Restore
Try using the System Restore utility to restore the computer to a working state. Select the most recent restore point from before the issue arose.

Uninstall Other Webcam Applications
Uninstall any other applications that use the webcam besides the pre-installed Toshiba camera application. For example, uninstall Skype if it's installed. This is just a temporary troubleshooting procedure. If uninstalling the other applications doesn't fix the problem, reinstall them. If it does fix the problem, try reinstalling them again to check if the webcam continues to work. If it stops working again, the issue is that specific third-party application.
Contact a professional or perform a system reset

Lastly, you might want to return your computer to factory default conditions. This is sometimes called a system reset or a system recovery. Note that this will remove all of your software and data that you added including applications, documents, photos, etc.

Sony Vaio VPCCB45FN exmor Hd web camera not working.....the green light besides the camera does not glow...neither does any webcam software detect the camera. The device manager shows a yellow exclamation...


Open device manager and uninstall that camera driver. After uninstalling click on CHECK FOR HARDWARE CHANGES, it will automatically detect and install the driver, if still doesn't work, take it to the service center.

It seems your camera is not installed, or the installation is corrupted.
Please, try reinstalling your camera:
1.Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a program>find your camera, click on it and hit Uninstall, confirm if prompted.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Insert your installation disc-the one you got with the camera, plug in the camera (connect with the computer, and start installation.
4. When installation finished, unplug the camera (disconnect from the computer) and restart your computer.
Should work now.

My toshiba web camera doesn't seem to work.how do I restore its function?


If you're running under windows, try reinstalling the drivers.
Go to control panel, Add or Remove programs, find anything related to the toshiba webcam and uninstall it.
Then go to device manager (press ctrl shift and esc at the same time and start a new process named devmgmt.msc) and find the camera; uninstall it from there if it shows up.

Restart your computer. Get drivers from the toshiba website or install the drivers that might have come on a CD, follow their instructions.

If that doesn't work, it might be broken, or if you installed a new operating system, it might not be compatible.

I uninstalled some old games with revo uninstaller and somehow it uninstalled some of my windows vista my installer and uninstller dosent work restore inop internet connection unknow and now unregistered...


hi Mike --- YES you can fix the issue

hopefully the items you unistalled are still in the computers waste bin basket -- do not delete them

go to start, control panel , under System and Main., select backup your computer, at bottom
select use system restore to ...

this will restore the system to a point in time before you uninstalled anything

in this section, i am sure you can fix the issues.

Hi,
1. Possible issue with the driver. You need to uninstall and reinstall the driver/sony software to your computer. Complete uninstall required then restart your computer, install the driver, restart computer then connect your camera.
2. If #1 didn't work, it is a possible issue with the Operating system update, usually messes up the internet connection and other 3rd party software. All your need to do is to perform system restore back to the date when your were able to your camera and computer normally.
** Here's how to do the system restore for Win vista and win 7:
Click on the start menu, go to all programs, go to accessories, go to system tools and look for system restore. Click on system restore then follow the prompt then choose the restore point for your computer.
**For Win XP
Click on the start menu, go to all programs, go to accessories, go to system tools and look for system restore. Click on system restore, choose Restore my computer to earlier time, there will be a calendar where you can choose the restore point for your computer.

go to the manufacturer's website of your webcam and download the camera software... - if not there, and you are using windows, simply do a system restore... it will restore your computer to an earlier state - normally the last restore point is when software is installed/uninstalled...

My camera dont want to workanymore i dont know what happen it just says that application has failed to start because its side-by-side cnfiguration is incoorect., waht does it mean? do i neet to unistall it...


You may need to reinstall your webcam driver to your computer to try to fix it.

Windows XP
1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Type devmgmt.msc press enter
4. Look for imaging devices
5. Right click it and click on uninstall
6. Restart the computer
7. It will automatically reinstall the driver

Windows Vista
1. Click pearl button
2. Click start search box
3. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter
4. Look for imaging devices
5. Right click it and click on uninstall
6. Restart the computer
7. It will automatically reinstall the driver
If you have the installation driver, you can try to use that as well.

If that didn't work you may want to restore your computer before that problem occur. Windows Operating system has the capability to restore.

Windows XP
1. Click Start
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Accessories
4. Click System Tools
5. Click System Restore
6. Choose a clickable date where you can restore your computer before the issue began.

AVG will no install error 0x800736b1 also retrirve my desktop


Hi there. My name is Alex and Im here to help solve your problem

First of all, AVG has always had a problem installing when windows updates are enabled and download and install automatically. I would recommend uninstalling all updates that have been installed to your computer and disable automatic updates which I will explain to you below

To uninstall the updates.
Click start, settings and click control panel.
On the icon add and remove programs, please double click
You will now see all the programs and updates installed on your computer. The microsoft updates are located near to the bottom of the list and there may be a lot of them installed. You can only uninstall one update at a time. You may be prompted that uninstalling a windows update may cause a program not to work properly, this is normal so you can continue uninstalling them. When you have uninstalled these updates please restart your computer.

To disable the automatic updates

Right click on your icon My computer or My pc which is located on the desktop or on the start menu (if you are running windows xp) and select properties
You will then see a sub menu called 'Automatic updates' and inside this menu you will have the choice to disable the updates

If you are using windows xp and you have system restore enabled on your computer, then you will be able to take the computer back to an earlier time when it was working correctly. Please save all documents first to insure that nothing will be lost if you decide to do a 'system restore'. There is a very friendly wizard to help you restore your computer. You can get to the system restore by clicking start, programs, accesories, system tools and selecting system restore.

Regarding your problem about your desktop disappearing, to restore your icons on the desktop, right click anywhere on the desktop and select organise icons and be sure that the heading 'show desktop icons' is ticked. This will restore your desktop items

Can't upload pics; computer not "seeing" camera


The key to getting back to "It used to work fine;" is to make Windows "GO BACK IN TIME" to that moment when it last "It used to work fine;" occurred. How to do that. Try to pinpoint the exact date that it started acting badly. Now do this: START-ALL PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM RESTORE. I'm hoping you actually have RESTORE utility turned on...Now select the restore date BEFORE it quit working. DONE! Windows will run as it used to run when all worked well. I use RESTORE all the time and I have 100% success rate!
