Hi tconway14:
There should be a local company that repairs HP laser printers in your area, just look for them on the net under Laser Printer Repair. You should only have to replace the scanner assembly (if that is the glass that you are talking about) and you can get an idea of the cost. labor, parts ect.

Scanner is putting broke up lines on the scans.how can I fix this? It's a Hp Photosmart c5180 All-in-one

Hi Suz305,
Trying cleaning the glass. if that doesn't work, you should check if it's a hardware or software problem - try making a copy and see if it happens in copies too, or only in the scanning. Good luck!

How do you clean the under side of glass

you will have to strip half the machine to get the top part of the machine to be able to remove the glass then you will have to be extremely careful not damage the scanner and then you might as well clean the mirrors and lens but please be careful you might cause yourself a lot of grief if aint broke do not fix it

30.01.19 Problem

You may have thought you were contacting HP directly, but you did not do so...Please go to this link to see the parts breakdown for your scanner. Unfortunately, I can only find the glass as a component of the entire scanner flatbed unit assembly, which would be quite expensive to replace.
I suggest you contact the HP parts replacement by email and submit a request with the details of your printer and purchase/shipping arrangements and an explanation of the damage and see if someone there cannot help you to obtain the required piece of glass, or at least the bar code needed to be scanned...the link for them is here.
If you are not successful in getting them to help, I suggest you make a post in the HP support forums, available here, where you will find many HP experts who are better able to direct your inquiries to the proper venue for a rapid solution.
Good luck in solving this difficulty!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

The glass for the scanner broke, i need another one

Eek, that's a tough call.

I think the cheapest would be to take the measurements and have a local glass company cut it to size.

I've never seen a manufacturer offer replacement glass tops for their scanners. The model isn't listed, but it's probably going to be cheaper to either buy a new one or buy a broken one off ebay and take the glass out of it to use in yours.

Printer keeps taking paper crooked

on the ADF?

which glass is broken? the platen glass or the slitter glass.
If the paper is going in crooked it means that the papaer is getting stuck where the obstruction is
