Bissell preheat 9500 2 wont spray water

It is common for the heater cores to clog on these causing no spray. Take it to your local vac shop for bypass surgery . The heater does very little and with it bypassed you won't have any further trouble.

Steamer problems

The light is connected to the heater if it is not working but the unit still gets hot the light may be faulty
If the unit does not get hot then there is a problem with the power getting to the heater element.
The fault may be in the switch

My Hometek Steam Penguin wont produce steam

Hi
I opened whole thing and found that no suction to the pump or pressure from the pump. Opened the clear box which contains the pump and the el-motor. Then I opened the white pump and found it was assembled wrong way round. There are two tiny one way silicon "valves" which should produce the flow of the water to the heater. I also wiped off part of the sticky grease away. Now it works. 4 hours work, but it was interesting to learn the function :) .

My hot water heater won't engage at all.

Sounds like the pilot light is not staying lit, provided you have one. The pilot light is used to keep the gas valve open by way of the thermocouple/switch. When the pilot light goes out the thermocouple cools down and shuts the supply of gas off to the water heater burner. It is not unusual for a thermocouple to go bad at which point it needs to be replaced. The thermocouple is the small rod that sits in or close to the pilot light flame. There is a small copper tube that runs from it up to the gas valve on the outside of the tank. This is where you control the temperature of the water as well as light the pilot light. If you are not experienced in dealing with hot water heater gas supplies, you should get professional help.

My bissell wont spray

Depending on which bissell you have; I would check the heater. If it is a newer module I would check the solenoid switch. The heater heats the soap up so much that it clumps the soap up and clogs both of these parts. I would also check the tips themselves to make sure that they are not clogged.

Powerwash proheat

If the unit is spraying ok but your just not getting hot water you could have a defective heater even if the light is on. To test you would need to take the handle apart and see if the heater gets hot by touching it give it about 2 Min's to heat up but be careful it will burn you if it is working properly. Another thing to remember is that even if it is working properly the water won't be very hot especially if you put cold water in it to start out with. The best thing to do is fill it with the hottest water you can get from the tap don't boil it or anything but this will help. Cleaner suddenly stopped working

Based on the other solutions I read, I also traced the problem to clogged input/output ports to the heater. I hadn't used the cleaner for about 2 years and the ports were blocked by calcium and mineral deposits. I took the manifold cover off the bottom of the heater and carefully reamed the ports out with a finishing nail. I then cleaned the ports and manifold with Lime-Away to dissolve any other deposits. I put it back together (with no parts left over!) and it works fine.
