Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My washer machine Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L is leaking water when I fill the tub with water. I opened cabinet and there is a small white box below the tub that is dripping water. My questions are what is this part called and how much does it cost.

Thanks, yes the white box is attached to 2 hoses, so it is a pump. How much does a pump cost.

Is it filling filling filling and not stopping. or will it fill and stop when it is supposed to. if it's fill fill filling could be a hole in the pressure hose or a faulty pressure switch. but if itt does all the cycles and is leaking you probably have a bad pump tip the unit back a little so you can see under but do not tip all the way you will see the pump. see if it leaking if so replace tha pump.

ok that white box is it connected to 2 hoses. if so that is your pump. if the white box is attached to the plastic tub. then you need a new tub.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 leak after wash cycle

Hello, you may have a small drip from the pump or a small drip from the hose that goes from the pump to the rear of the cabinet. To make sure you will have to run the unit with the cabinet removed. A local service tech can remove the cabinet quicklyand isolate the leak.

Oil and water leak

Chances are they are not related if the water is clean. These units can run quite a while dripping small amounts of oil. The drain hose is a possibility but there are other places it can leak from. Call a local tech he can run the machine with the cabinet removed and should be able to find the source of the water leak. good luck

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II - Whinning and leaking small amount of water

If the water is appearing in the front of the washer, you may have a leak in the drain pump. The link I'm posting below gives step-by-step instructions on how to replace the drain pump.

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

If it is not the drain pump, at least this gives you the necessary instruction on how to access the cabinet interior to inspect it properly. A whining noise could be something caught in the pump, or something stuck between the wash tub and outer basket. In order to run the washer with the case removed, you will need to by-pass the lid switch. this accomplished by jumpering the two BLACK wires on the lid switch connector at the timer. CAUTION: Unplug the washer before connecting the jumper wires. Then, plug back in and start the washer. Fill on the lowest setting and look for leaks.

NOTE: The drain pump is not serviceable and must be replaced if leaking.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.
