Question about Jenn-Air JGS8850ADS Gas Kitchen Range

Jenn Air JGS8850ADS Range

For the 2nd time, I have an error code displayed on the front panel F8 (call service). LAst time they replaced the electtronic panel. Now, 13 months later, its bad again. Anyone have similar problems? Paid $1600 for the range and don't want to keep replacing electonics every couple years!

    Hi I have a Jenn Air JGS8850ADS Slide in Range with an F1-8 Error message on it. Any idea what the problem is and what I need to replace before Thanksgiving day? Thanks in advance.

    We have the same f8 call serviceman message. Does any one know if this can be shut down without affecting the range itself?

    I have the same problem. I get the f1-8 error. I have had this range for 3 and half years and for the second time they will be replacing the electronic control unit. I just keep taking the Sear's extended warranty.
    Very sad. I bought Jenn-Air because I though it was good.

    I have had this stove since 11/04. The exact same part has been replaced 11 times. I also bought Jenn-Air because I thought it was a decent brand. I am now fighting with the extended warranty company because the same part has been replaced 4 times in 1 year. Since it was new in 2004 I have never had an oven during the holiday season!

    Oh boy, we just got this error last night after using the broiler for the first time. I'm bummed to see others with the problem that hasn't gotten addressed.

    yep have the same problem not happy at all if its not one thing its another i am so sick of this shit its almost like the kids toys they still make them with led

    in it and know one gives a shit...they all just want are money and they dont know how to make ppl happy after they buy it...like mike holmes always say do it right...

    We've had ours since Nov 05. It's had all the same problems that the others have had. It first went out at 4 months and is out now for the 4th or 5th time. It's worked aprox 19 months out of the 29 months we've owned it. It's always the control panel. Does anybodys elses start on it's own.

    CALL AUTHORIZED SERVER . EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS RANGE FROM SEARS IN AUGUST 2006 I HAVE PROBLEM WITH ONE AFTER ANOTHER.

    Control panel is dead. After shutting down and powering up displays:

    EE-214 M-214.

    Clock restarts at 12:00, cannot adjust anything.

    Where can I find error codes?

    Had 1-1/2 years.

    I am replacing control panel for 4th time in 2 years. Oven turned on by itself- fire hazard. If fire I will own Maytag

    F1-8 code thrid electrical panel in 2 1/2 years! Stove is a lemon, the joke is the Maytag repair states the have no issues or reported problems with the product.

    I have had the control panel replaced 5 times since purchased in 2006. 5th time today. This is defintley a lemon. Is ther any recourse ?

This model is a lemon. Maytag knows and does not care. My panel has been replaced 8 times already. Stay away from Maytag.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Its a problem with th touch membrane. These had allot of issues with this. Sometimes just unplugging and plugging the ribbon cable from the control to the touch-pad a few times fixed the issue. I would try that first.

(RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection
between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if
wiring is ok.

DISPLAY ERROR F1-8


F1-8 commonly means shorted membrane. Unplug or shut off the circuit breakers for 15 minutes, plug back in/turn back on, if problem persists replace membrane, if they are integrated parts replace control board (some come with membrane on parts vary)

Always shut off power before any repair attempts electrically

F1 is a bad power relay board.
F8 is a shorted meat probe alarm (probe jack or the harness to the probe jack)
