Jumpstart-P1-361cb7 only network name after reseting router

I reset my 2310 D'Link router and it will not let me change the network name and does no recognise that the router is connetect when I run the start-up CD. I downloaded the firmware upgrades but can't install because the CD/my computer says that the router is not connected. Despite this, it does transmitt wifi under the network name Jumpstart-P1-361cb7 but the quality of the Tx rate is no good. Can anyone help?

Try restarting clicking the restart button for at least 25 seconds... that gives time to the router
to reset all the parameters...

I hope this can help..

let me know if this helped you

Can you connect via web browser from the local "wired" computer?  Go to to see if you can access that way. Plug in user and pass and you should be able to change n-work name. then you can check the data rate and other things from the web browser. Firmware upgrades can be done there as well as long as the firmware is on your local system.  You don't need a startup CD....

Lost passcode hit reset & it said jumpstart-p1-97492d

Just reset your router and use (admin) for user name and password. To reset your router you can see a small hole in your router which is labeled reset. Use a pin and insert it to the hole and push.

Router has reset itself to jumpstart-p1 something

This may be a router at the what is call the "end-of -life and no longer serviceable.
You may have to go an get the latest router at your computer store.

I have lost the password to my d-link router model number WBR-2310 how can i change the password

You will have to do a hard reset on the machine and reprogram it with any settings you had previously. This will wipe all your settings out, so make sure that you dont' have any static or port settings you will need.
Look on the back for a little tiny hole, it will say reset. You will need a paper clip for this part. Hold down the reset button for about 30seconds. You might have to unplug it from the power after this for it to refresh.
Open your browser and got to beleive this is the ip of this router) and type admin for the user name and leave the password blank.

Here is your router:

Lost password for access to D-Link WBR 2310 wireless router

Hold reset button in the back of the router. If that doesn't fully reset it, unplug it, hold the reset button for about 10seconds and plug it back it with the reset button held in for a further 5-10 seconds, release. Then should be back to factory settings.
