Look underneath the dash area under the steering wheel. Most cars have a fuse panel there. There may also be one under the hood near the battery.

Good luck

I was hooking up a stero in my 2000 cadillic deville when a spark occured now the system is completely dead

Afternoon, the stereo has a fuse, which has blown. They are usually found on the positive side of the wire for the main power to stereo , if not that one, it is the fuse inside it. The ones I have fixed are very tiny, not standard size. Next time, disconnect the battery or put tape over the ends of the wires. good luck. You are not the first to do this and you certainly will not be the last so do not feel too bad. (Australia)

My 1999 DeVille Concours A/C and heater fans don't come on.

open hood, look in main fuse box for blown fuses,or bad relays to heater fans. the a/c fan should come on only when you turn a/c on at the dash panel only. it has nothing to do with the heat. if the heater blower fans don't come on, then look in the main box[fuse] for a blown fuse also. otherwise the problem is in the heater control module.[where you turn on a/c and the heat] that panel has a different fuse location.under the dash drivers side or on panel on drivers door at the door jam[where the door shuts towards the front of car, under mirror, but inside] look for fuse panel there also for blown fuse. hope this helps, but if not, recommend you seek a pro.such as cadillac

Car stereo help

There are some tests you can perform for checking the stereo. Yes, you are right, there is a yellow and red wire. Yellow constant power, red is switched throught the ignition. During the installation, you may have blown a fuse. A bigger fuse is not needed, stick with the same size if you find a bad fuse. Hook the red and yellow wire together for TESTING PURPOSES to one or the other of the hot wires in the vehicle. This will also test to see if you have a bad fuse. If the stereo powers up in one or the other power connections in the car and works, you have a blown fuse. I have seen some fuses be located under the hood of the car near the car battery. Hope this helps, Bob
