My frigidaire dryer model number gler341as2 is giving me a burning smell why is that?

Hi kmcgilvery...
That burning smell is probably a lint build up in the blower system of the dryer.
You will need to remove the back of the dryer and look for the vent tubing going to the hose connected to the outside. Once you find the tubing then disassemble and clean the tubing and blower wheel of dust...then clean your flexible vent tubing you have attached to the back of the dryer.

Frigidaier dryer just moved trying to attach dryer vent to back of dryer. only has opening. am i missing a tube that should be there to attach hose to?

Yes their should be a tube that sticks out of the back about 6-8 inches the vent is connected to.The part number for that tube is 131451600 it could be purchased atyour local appliance parts store or it could be ordered online at;

to replace that tube the entire dryer must be disassambled to get to the blower housing to connect

My frigidaire dryer takes too long to dry. it's under 5 years old. any suggestions?

Check for air flow restrictions from the lint filter (try to look down inside the filter housing and below the filter) all the way to the dryer vent hose and down in the opening where the vent hose connects to the outlet. If this isn't corrected, the high temperature fuse on the heater coil box will probably fail

I have a Frigidaire stackable full-size washer/dryer. I don't have the model number, but it is about eight years old. The dryer does not get hot enough to dry even a small load well.

When was the last time you cleaned out your vent? It should be done every 1-2 years to prevent build-up of lint and possible blockage. Also make sure your outside dryer vent flap is not stuck closed or clogged. I use a plumbers snake to twist inside the vent and clean out the lint. It makes a huge difference in drying time. Also disconnect the vent from behind the dryer and check for lint build-up inside the back of the dryer itself. (Be sure to unplug the dryer before you do this!) When you push the dryer back, be careful not to squish or pinch the dryer vent if it is a flexible foil or plastic tube. These are the easy fix-it's. Try them first before resorting to more expensive trouble shooting. Douglas

Not drying clothes, heat is on, lots of moisture in dryer

hi there,

This is a classic sign that you need to unclog or improve the dryer venting to the outside of the building.

One of the most important functions of a dryer is the elimination of moisture recovered during the heating of damp clothing. A typical 12-pound load of laundry can weight as much as 20-pounds when first removed from a washer. The extra 8-pounds is water. That moisture is held as humidity in the warm air produced by the dryer and is normally expelled to the outdoors through the dryer's vent. If this air can not be adequately removed, poor drying will result.

This moisture can also condense into pools of water in the dryer vent, eventually leaking out. Moisture accumulation inside the dryer ducting is often a sign of poor venting which should be looked into

good luck!!

Stacking Frigidaire dryer on washer using stacking kit 5303937141

You have to take the top off the washer a put it aside. You no longer need the top. Then you put the two angle brackets on the front top of the washer. this is where the front of the dryer will attach. The back of the washer either has or needs the brackets put on the top (been a long time since I did this). Remove the leveling legs from the dryer. Then lift the dryer and slide it on top of the washer with the back touching the top of the washer and the front about 2 inches higher than the washer top. The back of the dryer slides into the back brackets which are on the top back of the washer. Then lower the front of the dryer and the two "L" brackets on the front top of the washer slide through cracks into the dryer. Pop off the two plastic plugs on the dryer bottom front and place a screw in each one to hold the unit in place. Replace the plastic caps and you are done.

How to seperate a Kenmore dryer from the washer under it?

This is probably a model that has two access holes at the bottom front of the dryer -about 4-5" from each side- usually closed off with plastic discs. Just an inch up from the washing machine.  Pry out the plastic discs with a flat screwdriver and you should see a screw inside each of the two openings.  Remove the screws and you will be able to tip the dryer up and slide it back a few inches to detatch from the back.

Use two people to lift the dryer down as it is bulky but not too heavy.
