Question about Reddy Heater-170,000 BTU Kerosene Deluxe
The heater works fine in the garage above 0 but when i try to use it outside the temp display will flash "CC" and then shut off and the voltage light will flash i used my shortest cord but made no difference on the light but if i pull it back in the garage it will work for hours
Unfortunately this was a firmware bug in the early models. The "CC" is simply indicating that the temperature reading is under 0 degrees. The actual problem is that the thermistor curve is implemented in firmware via a lookup table. Temperatures below -10 fall out of the table and the firmware incorrectly interprets this as being a hot temperature.
The only fix is to replace the control.
