Unfortunately this was a firmware bug in the early models. The "CC" is simply indicating that the temperature reading is under 0 degrees. The actual problem is that the thermistor curve is implemented in firmware via a lookup table. Temperatures below -10 fall out of the table and the firmware incorrectly interprets this as being a hot temperature.

The only fix is to replace the control.

Heat pump not keeping up to set temperature on thermostat but never drops below 63 degrees whens its 20 degrees outside.

It may be getting low on refrigerant due to a small leak. I'd have it serviced soon. When running at less than peak efficiency it will much more often switch on the heat strips and they are not cheap to operate.

Lasko 5141 - I set the temp to hold @ 68 degrees at night but it seems to ignore the setting and gets into the high 70's. This is with the rotation switch on if that makes a difference. Any Help ? Thanks

Remember it is always colder at the floor level, the heater is pretty close to temp when it is above 40 degrees outside, but as the temperature gets colder outside so does the temperature at the floor level in your house because heat rises.

I use my house furnace thermostat mounted half way up the wall as a guide, When the temp outside is in the teens, I have seen as much difference between the floor temp on the heater and the wall to be 4-6 degrees different. So this means as the tempurature outside drops you need to regulate the thermostat on the heater downward to compensate for the colder floor temperatures.

Turned on new heater last night, according to instructions. It was on high all night and never got above 56 degrees.

We need a little more information:

When you say 'never got about 56 degrees'--
are you saying the heater never got about 56 degrees?-
or the room it was in, did not get above 56 degrees?

Can you hold your hand on the heater?-- is it hot, or is only lukewarm?

Are the indicator lights on the heater indicating that you have power, and the heater is working? (Or trying to heat the room, at least?)

What other sources of heat do you have for the room-- and how cold is it outside?

Tell us more--

Starting this afternoon: Thermastat was set (Manual) to turn on at 68, display window showed 63 but the furnace was not running. I manually set the turn on temp below 63, then up to 67 and the systrm...

Definitely a thermostat. It has 2 sections. One is a temperature reference section(what temp you want). The other is the temp reading section. If either one is bad,it will do just like you said.Sounds like the reference section is probably bad because it comes on for a couple minutes then shuts down.Since it was fine earlier in the day,I doubt there is anything wrong with the furnace because as you can see,it is temperature related.A furnace problem would be more of no operation at all, even if just dirty or whatever. The thermostat also would be a more common 'fail component' than the board.A suggestion also, both for a car and a house.During the summer, run the heat for 2-3 minutes, just to cycle it occasionally. In winter, run the A/C for 2-3 minutes.Do both perhaps once or twice a month. It helps keep the components, somewhat fresh I guess you would say, because cycling it occasionally helps to keep it going good. Also,if you encounter a problem, you may be able to get it fixed before you really need it.In the meantime, feel free to come on down to FL until it's fixed,we have room, lol.Although it's chilly now,the weekend will be 70's.(sorry)Good luck,Greg

What is the lowest temperature I can maintain with this heater ? That is, I plan to use it in crawl space where water pump and pressure tank and copper pipes and water heater are located and in winter...

YOu are asking a question that cannot be properly answered without knowing more of the situation. If this crawl space is subject to large air drafts and there are air vents that allow openess to this area, then you cannot be sure of the results. Since it will be winter, the humidity build-up is not so much a factor and you should take steps to isolate this area from air movement. Then you can apply heat. You may want to make a temporary plywood barrier around this area so your heat stays confined, thereby using the minimal heat needed to keep the temp you want. The heater will most likely handle the job; you should get a thermometer and keep the space at 40 degrees farenheit or slightly higher. When the warm weather arrives, remember to open the air venting again.

Fahrenheat fuh 54 b does not run long enough to get garage warm

have you checked what the operating amps are vs. the amps provided by the outlet. Sounds like you are trying to pull to much load and the machine probably has a saftey to where it shuts down bofore it buns itself up. Hope this helps. You have to be real careful about overloading circuts.

Won't shut off when reaching preset temp

The heater shuts off when it reaches two degrees above the set temperature and turns back on when it is two degrees below.
