Every time I click print for a document, my psc 1350 prints a test sheet, but puts the document in a queue and does not print it. It only prints it when I cancel the document & click print again. Ink-wasting, frustrating & time wasting! What could be wrong?

did you download the software and/or drivers necessary for your printer on your computer before connecting the usb cable from the printer to the pc? You can get the software necessary to use your printer for free at hp's website www.hp.com.
If you have the software and its still not printing, try clearing documents out of your print queue. Click on the arrow next to the clock on your screen and find the picture of the printer. Right click with your mouse on the picture of the printer and open the print queue. Delete any unprinted items in this area and close the print queue. then try a test page.
After printing the sheet needs to be loaded into the scanner and then you press the button as shown on the sheet to complete the alignment process. Once the alignment completes it will not print another alignment page untiol the next time a cartridge is replaced.
try these... if the lights stops press cancel and color button together to self test. if it is working. the printer is ok! proceed to check for the printing Queue cancel all pending document, check and select printer on the print control ,
I just had the same problem after putting in a new black cart. Try this:
Open HP Director
On the main window select Settings>Print Settings>Printer Toolbox
Open the Configuration Tab
At bottom right click "Factory Settings" button then "Apply"
A configuration warning popped up explaining that 'd be changing settings used by the driver. I clicked ok. AOK. (I did do an alignment just before this, but it's probably not required to fix the prob.
