Re: problem with wireless lexmark printer x4690
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the
printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your
computer (if USB-connected). Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source
to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB-connected). Then try
to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

download the installation software from lexmark. You will need to connect it to the computer via a USB cable to run the setup. Just follow the prompts and it will set up the printer on your wireless network. You will run this same software on each additional computer that you want to print to this printer.

Megan- Did you just plug the printer in, or did you go through the installation process first? Many printers (and I believe Lexmark is one) require that you install the software *before* hooking up the printer.
If you're not sure, delete the printer from your Windows printers folder, then disconnect the printer. Get your original software CD out, and reinstall the Lexmark package and drivers.
After the installation is finished, you should be prompted to "plug in your printer now". At that point, you should be good to go.
