Question about Philips Magnavox 42MF521D/37 Television
It turned itself off in the middle of a football game and won't power back on. i unplugged it for 60 seconds and replugged per the owners manual but that didn't fix it not did trying the plug in different outlets. i called magnavox support and they agree that it probably is a fuse. i need instructions on how to replace the fuse though. thank you.
I would not suggest trying to repair it yourself as you have to disassemble the unit and unless you are comfortable doing so and know what you are doing, you may damage something else. It may be a fuse but there is also a possibility of it being the power transformer or a component such as a diode or transistor. It is best to have a professional tech check it out. That way if it is something more serious, they will be able to determine what it is and repair it more easily. It may cost a bit more but better than irreversible damage to the unit.
