Look for the small tab/sliding switch on the side of the card and make sure it's not on write protect. If this isn't the problem then the switch or card may be physically damaged and need to be replaced.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position nearest the contacts enables writing, the position furthest from the contacts disables writing, protecting the card. If the switch is already in the enable position, try sliding it fully the other way and then back.
If that doesn't work, then try a different card.
