Question about Acer Aspire 7720 Notebook PC
When I try to operate the webcam on my acer aspire 7720z laptop it says it is busy. I have removed all pictures from pictures file (as was suggested) and istalled driver detective and updated drivers. Does anyone have any other solutions
Okay, first off, boot your laptop to Safe Mode with Networking and go online to http://www.bitdefender.com or http://www.trendmicro.com and run a malware scan. These driver updating programs are often used as conduits for trojans on the unsuspecting user's PCs. Drivers are available free of charge at the manufacturer's website, and you never need this software to update your drivers.
Now, regarding your webcam, after you do your malware scans (and don't be afraid to do it at both sites rather than only one,) have you tried to go into Control Panel to check the settings for the webcam? Do you have multiple programs seeking to utilize the webcam simultaneously? If so, you'll have to shut down whatever wayward programs might be taking control of the webcam (like Windows Messenger, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, etc.) and leave open the application you wish to use the camera.
If that doesn't work, try going into Device Manager, look for your webcam, uninstall it, and reboot. Let Windows find the webcam on reboot and reinstall the drivers for you.
Post back with how this goes.
