This has happened to us many times. For us it was because the back cord that connects to the console, had a short in it. We wiggle the back cord a little and it works. It is a pain to do, but we do that instead of getting a new one, since we no longer have the box or receipt for it.

you have to do this in the right order or it doesn't work. Start with the TV and Vsmile OFF
step 1) put the cartridge in and make sure it is all the way in
step 2) turn the TV on
step 3) turn the Vsmile on
if it still doesn't work, unplug the adapter or take the batteries out and let the system clear and then do the steps over. Good luck!

V tech tv learning system will not turn on

this system is frustrating because if you don't do the steps in the right order it won't work. Start with the TV and Vsmile OFF.
step1) put the cartridge in and make sure it's all the way in
step 2) turn the TV on
step 3) turn the Vsmile on
If it still doesn't work you may have to take the batteries out, or unplug the adapter, whichever power source you are using, to clear it and then start the steps over. Good luck!

Hook it up to the tv

If your hooking it directly to the tv depending on how old the tv is use one of the inputs. Hook the two red and white to red and white and the yellow to the video in input. If it's an older tv you will need whats called an rhf adapter. Hook your color codes together and use a cable cord to go from the antenna out to the tv's uhf input. I hope this information was helpful........... : )

Our Vsmile won't play

Make sure the system is off before inserting any cartrdiges. Things you can try to get the V.Smile TV Learning System to work:
1) Press the Reset – Press and hold the ON button for about 10 seconds
2) Make sure the game is inserted far enough into the system, and that it is pointing in the right direction. You may occasionally need to clean the contacts.
3) Also, make sure you are using the supplied power cord/adapter, not batteries. Batteries cause more problems than they’re worth.
