Question about Acer Aspire 5720 Notebook

1 Answer

Hibernation Option deleted.

I used to have Hibernation option on my Acer 5720. I was trying to free up some GB memory and apparently deleted that option. How can I re-install the Hibernation option? I'm running Vista. Please help. Thank you.

Check your power plan in use and look and see if it's set for Hybrid Sleep. If so, that may be keeping you from seeing the Hibernation option.

Texts not working on samsung galaxy y , storage data says full , even though it has been emptied,m no texts are coming in, also the option for moving apps to sd card is greyed out

Your phone can't use the mini SD card as internal memory. Your internal memory has to many apps, and to much data. (pictures, notes and messages) You should clear up the internal memory, by deleting apps and data. Most Samsung apps you can't delete. The modern phones already have apps, exceeding 10 Gb. So if you bought a 16 Gb phone only 5 Gb is left for you to use for apps. I'm sorry, but the SD cards should be seen as an external hard disk, not as internal memory.
If you thought I can buy a phone with less memory, because the SD cards are very cheap and will extend the internal memory, you made an error. New phones from Samsung now get more than 10 Gbyte of apps, you even can't remove. So only about 5 Gbyte is free to use for other apps and messages.
Next phone, take one with lots of internal memory, if you like to install other apps.

My Acer 5315 Data as only 3.01Gb free of 32.5 Gb do I need a New Hard Drive to get more Ram

More RAM will not help because your RAM is temporary memory. You can uninstall the software you dont use or backup your documents/pictures/music to an external source and delete them from your hard drive. Another option is to use the Disk Cleanup utility to rid your system of temporary files that are taking up space or get an external hard drive to backup your files to.

I recently had a bankerfox.a virus and tried to repair it using a download and now the computer will not boot and keeps powering down when I try to boot from the selection screen. Is this problem...

You could boot, press the F8 while booting, and "IF" the option for 'boot to last known good configuration' option is there, use it.
This should boot as normal, then download and install either AVG free edition, or Avast free edition, run and remove the virus that way.
I hope this helps, but note, not all systems allow the boot to last good option.

Hibernation

Hello I was wondering did you try to go in to your bios and turn your hibernation option off, That should take care of your computer in that state, Now if you don't know how to get into your bios its fairly easy, When you first turn on your computer you see your computers Logo. Dell,Hp,Ibm,ect. Now when you see that, press the F2 key or it may even be the delete key repeatedly until you enter the bios, Now look at the instructions on how to navigate around your system, Now if you go to your power options and turn off your hibernation option and any others that you don't need, after that push F10 to save your settings and exit, That should get you up and running. Let me know if that don't work and we will figure out another way.
