Question about Sti Group Sti Infinity 160 Gph Magnetic Drive Submersible Pump with 6ft Cable

1 Answer

Filter I have a Infinity Magnetic Drive Pond Pump 160 gph installed in a small waterfall. I am wondering if I should get some type of filter to protect the pump from leaves, etc. that falls into the 9 gallon pond. Also, I have a heater in there that so far has protected the water from any frost at all, even in nights in the teens. Is it alright to leave my pump in there also? Thank you, Judy Hartley

You can build your own little filter by placing is in a container, like yorgart, with lid, but before you do punch holes into it no more than 1/8 inch all around. the more holes the better. this way your pump does not **** something into the chamber that will stop the propeller. I have done this and it works like a charm. Also you can use pond pots, the ones that have many slits in them.
Magnetic Drive Pond pumps can be left in the pond even if it froze. These pumps are great for weather. Once water unfreezes, pump will start again.

I noticed the *** astericks ... was not a no-no word. Meant to say it will not take anything into the pump.

How do I prime my outside of the pond waterfall pump?

I would take the intake hose off the pump and fill it with water and with the pump running I would hokk upthe intake hose.

I also would if possible have the pump lower than the pond.
