Just bought the mixer and when i hook up the mixer to the amp the amp showing it clipping and no sound to the main speakers

If you are getting signal from you mixer at leaves tha are clipping your amp, then the mixer is working and at least the front end of your amp is working to register the clipping. In that case, your problem is-
1. The amp outputs are blown, check by hooking up to a different amp.
2, The speaker wires are connected incorrectly.
3. The speakers are not working. Try a different set.

How to hook up to home amp

If home amp has a phono input and you have no turntable, plug the output of the MP3 player into the phono input and begin with the volume turned all the way down. If you do not have a phono input, you can plug something like a DJ mixer in to get that extra level of amplification you want for comfortable listening. If you do that, the MP3 player would plug into the turntable input and the mixer output would go to the available line level input of the home amp.

The CD player has either the coaxial connector, which is not common for home amps, and a pair of "RCA" jacks (right and left) which are.
The CD output can be connected to any avaialble line level input, such as anunused "Aux", "Tape In" "MD/VCR audio in, etc.

Not receiving STEREO output when toggle switch for mixer is in the STEREO position

Here are a couple of steps you can do first before opening up the mixer & I'll word this so that it covers every potential item, (Turntables, CDJ's, Rack Mount CD Players, External Player, PC, Laptop, etc.) Obviously there are a multitude of items that could be the cause of you only receiving your RIGHT MASTER OUT since you didnt specify what item this occurs with if not all. So here's a quick legend for you to follow my references regarding the NUMARK 5000FX Mixer so here we go:
*******************************************************************************
MIC/Line Phono/CD Phono/CD Phono/CD LA/LB Zone/Booth/Rec/MSTR
LO LO LO LO LO LO LO LO LO LO LOLOLO LO
RO RO RO RO RO RO RO RO RO RO RORORORO
********************************************************************************
1. Turntables - A) If being used make sure the little black switch on the back is set to Phono instead of CD. Plug just one table in, play the record & see if there's only one side of your MASTER output jumping and make note of it. Then repeat the exact same steps for all Phono inputs (total 3) & again make note of your MASTER output signal Left or Right or Both sides jumping. This will help you identify if its just a specific channell that only works on R or L.
B) Now do the exact steps above for the other turntable & this will confirm whether or not the Phono cables went bad on the turntable or if a specific channell is has gone bad while in Phono mode.
2. CDJ's/Rack Mount CD Player - A) Now just use your CDJ's/Rack Mount CD PLayer for the next test & be sure to now change the little black switch on the back from Phono to CD. Just as the steps with the turntable perform the same for this item in all possible RCA's (total 6) & note your MASTER channell output signals L & R.
B) Now do the same for the other CDJ/Rack Mount CD Player & this will confirm whether or not the RCA cables went bad on the CDJ's/Rack Mount Player or if a specific channell has gone bad while in CD mode.
3. Audio Cables OUT - A) There are a host of ways to have your audio come OUT & multiple configurations depending on how you record &/or bounce your audio OUT. Now since you say your MASTER OUT digital meter is only jumping on the R side depending on if you're going with RCA MASTER OUT or XLR BALANCED MASTER OUT either or is what'll show the digital reader bouncing with audio so check both. It could very well have been a cable going bad on you simple as that & you can check that by pluging your cable that works on the R side into the L side. If it starts showing a reading on the digital meter than you've solved the problem being a bad cable. Also don't forget to check your ZONE, BOOTH & RECORD OUTS as well however these will not show on your digital meter so open up your audio recording software to confirm that L & R sides are working for these.
B) Last but not least double check that your BALANCE knob is set directly at 12 o'clock, this could sometimes be the culpret.

Well I hope this helps & good luck.

Noise , sounds like ungrounded, all the cables are fine , the connection is grounded

so its a buzzing noise. are your turntables grounded? some dont have to be. the buzzing could be several things feedback from something around you or the mixer is buzzing cause of to much power. just mess around w stuff your not gonna break it. and what i mean about that is more wires check wires. dont preform open heart surgery on your equptment. sometimes the buzzing means the faders are going i own 3 vestax mixers and on my pmc 17a right before the faders went i had massive buzzing sound.

I. Have a profx12. I am running just into laptop.i want to use my jvc receiver to playback recording instead of listening through headphones. Is this possible.

it should be if you hook something up to an input channel like w the band i was in i had to hook my turntables up to a microphone jack on an open channel . so yeah if u plug lets say a cd player plug the output of that into the input of the mackie and make sure you have your speakers in the output of mackie all set up and it should work no problem. We have the same mackie

Ch1 does not turn on

you mean theres no sound cause if the mixer is plugged in channel 1 is on but not working make sure you have it switched to line/cd or phono and make sure everything is plugged in at all ends also if your turntables need to be grounded to the mixer do that as well

How do I use my laptop like turntables, PLEASE HELP

A trip to your local Radio Shack should solve your problem with the purchase of a mini phone jack to double RCA type (red and white) leads cable.

Jack into the audio out of your Macbook and into the input of your choice on the mixer with the RCA jacks and you are good to go.

I dont know how to connect it to my laptop

I'd recommend either the UCA 202 or the UCA 222. Both are Behringer products and the 222 comes with a software bundle. Check out the energy XTC software, I downloaded it and am having fun with it already.
