could be the woofer but it is probably the amp. better bring it to a service center for evaluation.

Make sure all of your cables are seated well; this can come from poor shielding of low-level audio cables.
If all seems in order, then the power supply for the subwoofer has poor filtering that can come from a failing electrolytic capacitor.

set an old radio to am get remote as close to aerial as possible when a button is pressed beeps should be heared thru the radio speaker

i saw one on display in edgeware road and needed the sensor at the time and i got i..t but that was years ago.. ive got the whole setup if any one is intrested?
