Red light indicates that the battery is charging. The light will goes off to inform you the charging is complete. Possible that the battery was alreay damaged since you left it charging overnight. Charging time is approximately 5 hours only.
I suggest that you have to replace your battery with a new one.
Feel free to send us your suggestion or comments if this solution was helpful.
If the [CHARGE] lamp flashes red The battery is faulty or the battery is loaded in the charger incorrectly. Remove the battery from the charger and check if its contacts are dirty. If they are, wipe them off with dry cloth and then reload the battery into the charger. When experiencing charging problems, also check to make sure that the power cord is not disconnected [CHARGE] lamp from the power outlet or charger. If an error still continues to occur after you perform the above steps, it could mean that the battery is faulty. Contact your nearest CASIO authorized service center.
I hope this information helps you out and good luck!
i think the red light means low power for battery... maybe just maybe your battery didnt really charge.. im not saying that its the charger, but try to buy a new rechargeable batteries, use it then charge it and compare it with the other one... i think thats the problem with batteries if we stop using it for a long time... hope ull be able to resolve it
It's a known Fault with the NP-20 battery don't order one and pay for it, ring or e-mail casio customer service they should send you one out for free!! When you receive the new one don't let it die, make sure and keep it partially charged at all time or the charger won't recognize it. Really casio should recall this battery but for some reason they insist on replacing faulty batteries with more faulty batteries!??!
Hello, Here's a copy from the owners manual: ■ Charging LED Red LED is on = Being charged Red LED is blinking = Charging error Green LED is on = Carging is complete
● If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error. - The battery is not properly inserted - The terminals of battery are dirty or damaged If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.
Another charging error is when the batteries are so depleted, they won't charge up to 100% anymore = red light doesn't go out and remains on for too long, means get a new battery.
1. Clean the battery charger pin & battery charging point too. If the red light still blinking then replace your battery. Your battery life is finished then.
For confirmation try to charge your battery from others people charger or ask some same battery and fixit in in your charging place. You can short out then which one have problem.
Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
known issue, battery needs to be 'shocked" back to life. Here's the fix:
"Hi,I just found a soultion on another website and it appears to have worked for me.Apparently the battery loses it memory when fully discharged,to fix this take a 9v battery and place the terminals + to + and - to - with the camera battery for 30 seconds or so then put the battery back in the camera and charge as normal.I just did this and it seems to be charging and the red light is solid.hope this helps."
I found this while searching to find an answer to solve my problem. It worked! Some say that it took them about 20 times... it took me about 7. Be patient and just keep trying! Hope this helps!
My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery. ylu1 writes: I had the same problem as this. what i did was... i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on. i did this about 6 times. doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash. after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge. hope this helps.
