ekimt,

Yes, it would not recognize any type of disc. The disc icon was always present on the display even though no disc was inserted. Also, mine went out while recording from HDD to DVD. Panasonic had mine repaired in two business days and it' s working great.

SOURCE: Panasonic DVD player stuck on Reading

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my Yamaha DVD player which just kept displaying "reading, reading and reading"- eject-no disc or disc error. I took it into be repaired and was told it needed a new optical lense-cost $120.00 plus fitting.I was told not viable to fix. Not convinced I had a look on the internet and a suggestion given was to buy a can of Air Spray from **** Smith,$14.00 later and blowing the proverbial out of the inside of the unit-Bingo it works for about an hour and then, away we go again-reading reading reading - eject-no disc. Back to the internet and i found a DVD technician who advised the more often than not the problem is a dirty optical lense, and he has saved 100's from the grave by the following method. The most effective way to clean it is with a cotton wool bud soaked in Isopropyl Alcohol and give it a good rub without damaging it. I got the Isopropyl alcohol for $12.00 a 250 ml bottle from the local chemist and did what was suggested. IT WORKED and is still going- not sure for how long but the bonus is I can use the remainder for rubbing down my tired old body, as after shave or a refresher, in addition to fixing DVD's so not all is lost. It's worth a try considering I was going to throw the Yamaha away. Thanks to the internet and the good people who share their knowledge I am happy again.
Hopefully it will work for you. If not, don't forget the other uses for the alcohol.

I have upgraded the firmware on my player and the problem disappeared. There is a "bitrate display" option in the Settings menu, but it didn't change anything when I tried it (before the upgrade). Now it isn't necessary.

SOURCE: Panasonic DVD player RV62 H07 message - disc

You can try to clean the laser by opening the unit and wiping gently with a cue tip or cotton swab, but if you are getting a H07 errorit may be somethng more serious and require a replacementof the dvd drive.I hope this helps. Good luck.

Humming sound when Sony DVD player is turned on. The player is attached to a TV. The sound continues when a DVD movie is played.. The intensity of the humming changes with changes in the Video.

Is the humming just from the power on or is it when the DVD is spinning some media will spin with a loud humming noise something to do with the balance similar to an unbalanced car wheel, just a lot quiter. Burn the DVD using ImageBurn create an ISO and reburn.

If it hums without the DVD spinning it is probably the transformer on the PSU on it way out this can happen at any time it is caused by the voltage step down coil becoming damaged in some way and the lower voltage provided causes the noise.

If this is the case I suggest a new PSU or at least a new Transformer.

I have a humming noise coming from my new 50in panasonic plasma tv. Is this a common problem and if so what could I do about it? Thank you for your time. Pat

The humming noise should be verry low . It is caused by the powersupply and switching fets on the boards. A plasma screen always produce some sort of humming noise when listen carefully to the device but it shouln't be anoying when enyoing a movie. So it is a natural thing but again it should not be noticable, enyoing a movie at apr. 3 meters or so...

What you are describing is 'Last Scene Memory' function which is a feature of most DVD players. The player will not memorise the last scene if you switch of the player before playing the disc. This should Fixya!

Please remember to rate this solution.
