SOURCE: My laptop wont exit safe mode even when pressing

this is a case of os corruption somehow..!!..may b a virus/trojan or hardware or software is responsible..
all u need is the os boot cd anyway..

probably now u got two way out:
goto somecyber n download win xp pro sp2, using any bit-torrentclient(like utorrent) from torrent site (eg. mininova.org so on)..make aboot disk n try..
1) copy the file in windows repair mode or from any identical os n put it in place as stated above..
OR 2) reinstall os..
(to takedata backups u gotta connect the hdd to another pc/laptop, forsuch cases a hdd-case is available in the local spare market, it'llmake behave ur hdd to act as an external removable drive)..

thiscan also b a symptom of faulty/defective of RAM..pen clean/removecarbon& or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resitit..[it'll b more prominent, that if itz cause by ram or not,..if duringnormal operation, a Blue Screen appears/Memory Dump]
though, sometimes itz also caused by the m/b..

there are also exceptions, where it is found that any hardware componenton the system is loose or incompatible (see addon cards, the ram(s),the hdd (if itz making any 'ticking' noise like 'kirr kirr' or 'tuc tuc'), all data cables n power cords, may b dusty, cpu overheating, see filter/power/south bridge/crystal clock generator section of m/besp mosfets and capacitors..etc)..

if once u can login, do the following:
hv a licensed and UPDATED antivirus installed (i prefer avg/kaspersky, , without updation a full version antivirus is useless)..
download, install n run microsoft kb890830..http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en..
download n run Startup Control Panel..http://download.cnet.com/Startup-Control-Panel/3000-2094_4-10039330.html..'remove all the unnecessarystartup items from here..(if u can't find what to remove, post me/us inur comment with all the items listed in each n every tabs herein)..
remove all unnecessary software from add/remove programs..
download, install n run 'Advanced System Care Pro'..http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Pro/3000-2086_4-10399324.html..
disablethe following: a) 'Automatically Restart' right click on mycomputer->properties->advanced->startup n recovery->(uncheckon the) Automatically Restart; b)'Error Reporting 'right click on mycomputer->properties->advanced->error reporting->disableerror reporting->(uncheck on the) 'but notify me when critical erroroccur'..
Increase the size of Virtual Memory, Initial: 1440; Maximum: 2880

always better to seek professional advice of ur system admin/vendor....

How to Bypass Windows XP Password in Safe Mode?

As a special diagnostic operating mode of Windows, safe mode which starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers helps you to diagnose and troubleshoot various computer problems. Whenever your computer crashes or a spyware or virus affects your PC, you can enter safe mode to fix these problems. So when you want to <a href="http://www.anypasswordrecovery.com/bypass-windows-xp-password.html" style="font-weight: bold;">bypass Windows XP password</a>.<br /><br />There are 3 safe mode options, here only shows you detailed instructions on <a href="http://www.anypasswordrecovery.com/bypass-windows-xp-password.html" style="font-weight: bold;">how to bypass windows XP password</a> by safe mode with command prompt, which will starts Windows in safe mode with a command prompt window instead of the usual Windows interface. Before proceeding the following steps, please make sure that you never set a password for the built-in administrator account on your Windows XP machine or you can remember password of a Windows account with administrative privileges.<br /><br />Step 1. Turn on your computer.<br /><br />Step 2. Repeatedly tap F8 key as the computer is booting. It will bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below.<br /><br /><img src="yaoch.png" /><br /><br />Step 3. Use your arrow keys to select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and press Enter.<br /><br />Step 4. Windows will load files until you see a logon screen similar screen with all your account user names displayed. Enter password for your administrator account to get in safe mode.<br /><br />Step 5. Now all the operations compete and you can exit safe mode by restarting computer.<br /><br />Please note this method will not work for you if you cannot enter safe mode with an administrator account. Under this circumstance, what should you do next? Well, don't feel impressed. Windows password recovery solutions aren't limited to this. <a href="http://www.anypasswordrecovery.com/" style="font-weight: bold;">Rekeysoft Windows Password Recovery</a> is another good choice. It only takes you 4 steps to bypass Windows XP password in less than 5 minutes.<br /><br />Step 1. Download and install Windows Password Recovery.<br /><br />Step 2. Burn a bootable Windows password reset CD/DVD/USB flash drive.<br /><br />Step 3. Insert the CD/DVD/USB flash drive in the locked computer and set BIOS of the computer to boot from CD/DVD/USB flash drive.<br /><br />Step 4: <a href="http://www.anypasswordrecovery.com/reset-windows-xp-password.html" style="font-weight: bold;">Reset Windows XP password</a> under Win PE with a few clicks.<br /><br />Of course, if you had created a password reset disk after creating a Windows password, you can easily use this disk to change the lost login password to a new one with ease. It will save you from a lot of troubles when forgot login password to your Windows XP computer.

Safe mode exit

Just reboot normally and do not select SafeMode. You need to configure the boot order in the BIOS to make Boot from CD-Drive the first option. save the changes and then exit the BIOS. Insert the installation disk and reboot.

My monitor says out of range

You have set the resolution or refresh rate of your display adapter to a value which is too high than what is supported by your monitor.
In order to fix this, you have to do the following:
1. Reboot your computer & press F8 to boot into Safe Mode.
2. Once in Safe Mode, open Device Manager.
3. Remove the display adapter device driver form Device Manager.
4. Reboot your computer again. Windows will boot up normally & will detect the display adapter. It will prompt you for the device driver for the display adapter.
5. Use the CD that came with your display adapter to install the device driver. Once done, your problem is fixed.

Cant acess safe mode in windows xp, just cycles startup screens

Here are some steps to use MSCONFIG to force your computer into SAFE MODE
  1. Click on Start and then Run.
  2. In the text box in the Run window, type msconfig and click OK. This will open the System Configuration Utility program.
Note: Do not make changes in the System Configuration Utility other than those outlined here to avoid causing serious system issues. This utility controls a number of startup activities other than those involved with Safe Mode.
  3. Click on the BOOT.INI tab located at the top of the System Configuration Utility window.
  4. Check the checkbox next to /SAFEBOOT and click OK.
  5. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  6. After the restart, the PC will automatically boot into Windows XP Safe Mode.
Note: Windows XP will continue to boot into Safe Mode until the System Configuration Utility is configured to again boot normally.
  7. When your work in Safe Mode is complete, click on Start and then Run. Type msconfig in the text box and click OK.
This will again open the System Configuration Utility program.
  8. Choose the Normal Startup radio button and click OK.
  9. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  10. After the restart, the PC will boot into Windows XP normally and will continue to do so.
