Question about Seagate ST91430AG - 1GB 4.5K IDE 3.5"" Hard Disk Drive HDD"

Seagate ST91430AG not detected in Windows 7

Hello. I have a Seagate ST91430AG which was taken out of an old notebook. I'm trying to access it as an external drive, using an IDE to USB adapter, and plugging it into my PC via a USB port. The PC's operating system is Windows 7. The drive seems to spin (I touch it and feel the vibration), but the computer cannot detect it. I've been searching for Windows 7 drivers for this drive, but haven't found any. Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

hi..there...

why your lenovo H430 Desktop cannot detect your internal Hard Drive Seagate 3 TB ..because your Lenovo only support maximum 2TB Internal Hard Drive..

so the best thing to solve your problem is replace your hard drive and use only maximum 2 TB for your internal hard drive..

that's will make your lenovo works again

I have external hard disk 500g seagate. it dosen't open and disapper not accessible (error performing inpage operation)" message. what do i? it's very important for me.

Hi ahmad1353,

You might be experiencing some problem with the hard drive itself so here's what you can try;

Open command prompt(if your using Windows): Click start -> Run(if your using Windows 7 just type CMD on the start search) type CMD and press Enter.

On the Command Prompt(black screen with a blinking cursor) type the following command;

chkdsk [drive:] /F - wherein [drive] is the drive letter for you Seagate external hard drive(to check just double clieck MyComputer(Computer for Windows 7) and look for the drive letter. This should scan the external hard drive for any problems and hopefully provide a fix for you to be able to access your files.

Hello. I recently installed Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition. I was initally unable to access my seagate external HDD. I tried to take ownership and played around with the permission settings to no avail...

It may be the USB chipset on the motherboard that needs a new 64bit driver downlod. I used Driver Detective to update my Intell chipset when I upgraded to 7 now all my external drives show up. Try using other USB ports on your computer first to force the computer to reload the driver for the new port.
