First check to see if the machine is in bobbin winding mode. If you are sure it is not in winding mode.... check your motor belt. It's probably worn out or mis-adjusted.

Pfaff 1222 E Makes a whirring noise, wheel won't turn

How long has it been since it's had a thorough cleaning & oiling (including the internal moving parts)? Resist trying to run the machine if the only thing running is the motor. You could burn up the motor or possibly break a gear.

The following method has helped me rescue some frozen older Berninas (which your model seems to resemble). This method worked on all of them except one that also needed a cracked gear replaced.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

Hi i have a 13400 kenmore sewing matching and the needle wont move what can i do?

How long has it been since you've had a thorough cleaning & oiling done on your machine? Most likely, the old oil has solidified and has stuck the parts together. Resist the temptation to run the motor when the machine will not operate or you may damage the motor.

Model 2142. Motor runs but why doesn't belt move for regular sewing?

Make sure the bobbin winder has not been activated. When the bobbin winder is activated, the needle bar is deactivated. The belt could also be stretched, damaged, or broken.

Needle stays stuck whilst motor runs. Elna sewing machine

Its a lovely swiss made machine, this is an electronic motor so the needle pressure should remain constant no matter what speed you sew at. The needle staying down and the squealing sounds more like drive issues inside or possibly gunk buildup.

If it was my machine, I would take it to a qualified Elna technician and ask for him to look at it. These machines are small and well made so well worth spending the money to give it a service and get it back to 1000% IMHO.

The needle wont move at all?

Hello we had the same problem with our sewing machine. After playing with it we found there is a bobbin winding assembly lever that moves back and forth. By moving it the needle moved. This helped us. Hope it helps you. [email protected] if you have questions.
