Generally compressors develop their own sounds as they age. Make sure the condenser is good and clean. Its about all you can do.

first ask yourself how old is this compressor?
how much to fix it and re-gass it?
if you pay to fix it, how much life is left in the old girl?

Is it worth fixing a 30 yr old Traulsen commercial reach in refrigerator/freezer? The compressor on the freezer needs replacing but the refrigerator is working fine.

Is there a compressor for the refrigerator separate from the freezer? Weigh the cost of repairs against the cost of a new unit, then decide.

Traulsen refrigerator fans power up but not compressor after 12 month storage

either the tstat or the starter pack is bad - I'd start off by replacing the starter pack with a all in one type. 1/3 horse size by supco. should have it at your local parts store.

Traulsen refrigerator too warm the unit is only 2 years old and current temperature is 44

start with the easy fixes. Check and be sure that the condenser coil, the one by the compressor, is really clean. The system needs to "Breathe" in order to do it's job.
Start there and let me know if I can be of further help.

Very loud compressor in traulsen freezer

It's probably a hermetic compressor. Nothing can be done. It's got an internal rattle, possibly defective valves, or freon was avercharged.

Ok, next question, when he replaced the compressors, did he modify the evap sections with TX Valves and remove the cap tubes? Per Traulsen specs, all remote units are factory set with TX valves while local units are equipped with cap tubes. If this modification was not done, it may be your cause of excessive electical consumption. Then again, re-reading your recent post, the compressors were changed to 3/4 hp? From Traulsen specs your unit came with a 1/6 fridge compressor and a 1/3 freezer compressor, is that correct? Electrical consumption on these are URS48DT 11.2 Amps 1/6 HP & 1/3 HP (1288 watts) at full load, while a 3/4 compressor is 14.9 amps 3/4 HP (1713.5 Watts) at full load X2 = 3527 Watts, or about 3 times original. I may be off target, but from what I can assume, I am beginning to think your compressors are over sized, drastrically and that the evap units may not have been modified to TX Valve. Let me know if this helps or if there is any additional information you can provide. Current compressor model numbers, previous compressor model numbers, complete unit model/serial number would all be a help in determining your exact specifications.
Thanks
Richard

this is bad. you have one of 2 things going on if the noise is a rattleing in the compressor that is like viborating it,s probably a broken or unhooked support spring no fix could be also the oil left when it was on its side fi thats the case its still in the system run it and hope it comes back befor the compressor sets up one last thing did you check to see if its just a fan blade hitting somethig? dan
